These are the methods of practicing and offering to the fire deity. Third, practicing and offering through the door of gratitude. That is, offering gratitude to the fire deity itself. Offer with offerings from Argha (offering water) to Shabda (sound), and praise: With great wisdom, understand selflessness, with great compassion, truly see beings. With skillful means, manifest as an ascetic, I prostrate to the holder, the fire god. Son of Brahma, Ishvara, and the protector of the world, King of the fire gods, great ascetic. To protect all beings, emanate the body with compassion. Ascetic accomplished with mantra, is the light of wisdom that burns afflictions. Blazing with glory like the fire of the eon, possessing clairvoyance and miraculous feet. Riding the vehicle emanated by skillful means, holding a rosary of mantra speech. Holding the Gandhe (bell) filled with nectar essence, sprinkling the nectar of Dharma to all. Free from the faults of wrongdoing, practicing celibacy. Though dwelling in the world, transcending suffering. Though attaining peace, possessing great compassion. Praise and prostrate to that one. Thus praise. The Torma (offering cake) of the fire god: purify with Amrita Kundali, purify with Svabhava. From emptiness, from Om Ah Hum, arises the great ocean of nectar. Om Ah Hum Ha Ho Hrih. Om Agnaye, Adibya... until Vahanaya. Akaro Mukham... etc. add, offer the Torma seven times. Again, offer with offerings from offering water to sound. Fire, the god of fire who consumes burnt offerings. King of ascetics, lord of demons. To the fire god and his retinue, I offer, praise, and prostrate. Please accept this offering and alms, may we yogis... until all is accomplished! Entrust the activity with this. As a pleasing offering to the fire god, with the mantra of ghee: Om Agnaye Svaha. Recite twenty-one times, offering three sets of seven ghee lamps. Again, as before, purify with Amrita, sprinkle water. Offer with offering water. If desired, add confession and supplication, then extend the thumb of the mudra of refuge, which was given during the invitation, to the ear and push it outwards, reciting: Om, for the benefit of myself and others, please go and enjoy for accomplishment. As you wish, please return in due time and accomplish all my desires. Om Agnaya hi gaccha, thus recite. The wisdom being returns to its natural abode, the samaya being dissolves into the burning flame. Conclude with any prayers and auspicious words that can be accomplished, with this the offering and praise are perfectly completed.
