For all dharmas that include both good and bad, there is no need to accept or reject, or to affirm or negate. This is because all dharmas to be accepted are, in reality, not established as truly empty; and all dharmas to be abandoned are empty by their very nature. It is like white and black clouds both dissolving into emptiness in the expanse of the sky. Because of not realizing this undifferentiated state, one is obscured by sudden obscurations. The Hundred Thousand Prajñāpāramitā states: "Form is empty by form, feeling is empty by feeling." How is this realized? It is realized by practicing this Chöd realm of demons, which is the meaning of going beyond. Transforming adverse conditions into the path means that all the causes for achieving the omniscient Buddha are created by adverse conditions. Therefore, transforming adverse conditions into the path is like cutting off thirst in water when extremely thirsty, entrusting a sick person to gods and demons, a messenger getting lost to the enemy, and considering disharmony as a friend. This Chöd instruction is the intention of Ama Jomo. Considering all unfavorable spirits and obstacles, enemies and demons, adverse conditions and hindrances, sickness and suffering, etc., as aids to achieving enlightenment, because from the cause, negative karma and obscurations are eliminated; from the condition, obstacles on the path are cleared; from realization, the power is increased; and from the result, the qualities of the Buddha are generated. The Sutra states: "Even life should be abandoned for the sake of Dharma, and yogis should strive diligently. Knowing these as signs of non-regression, one should understand." These are the instructions of Chöd that reveal the profound meaning, the heart essence, which should be written down for the benefit of all. Therefore, internally, cut off the extremes of views, cut off the ultimate of meditation, cut off the acceptance and rejection of actions, and cut off the hope and fear of results. Externally, cut off the hated enemy, cut off the harmful obstacles, and cut off the objects of attachment and aversion, as well as all adverse conditions, hence it is called Chöd. Understanding the meaning of words, adorned with loving-kindness, possessing eight kinds of wisdom. Accomplishing one's own benefit to the end, skilled in emptiness, compassion, practice, and eliminating adverse conditions.

From there, it should be narrated by someone who is skilled at distinguishing the boundaries of samsara and nirvana, skilled at demonstrating support with word guidance that has no taking or leaving, skilled at demonstrating the essential guidance of flesh and blood, skilled at bestowing practice, and possesses eight kinds of skillfulness. Possessing faith, diligence, reverence, armor, and perseverance. In order to save from fear, attain higher realms, good wishes, and achieve omniscience. This refers to the disciple who practices this Dharma, who should possess faith, diligence, and great wisdom, a great heart, perseverance, and endurance. Little arrogance, miserliness, and hypocrisy. Little jealousy, desire, and attachment. Respect and fear the Lama. These are precious golden vessels. Or, a suffering person, someone afflicted by illness and demons, someone facing death or suffering from leprosy or similar diseases, someone abandoned by diviners or doctors, fortune tellers, witches, and prophets, who always curse and predict death. Know that this is also a vessel for this Dharma. Or, a person with faith, who fears death and is very reverent, who listens to all teachings, know that this is a vessel for hearing this Dharma. Therefore, it should be practiced by someone who possesses three great qualities: a great burst of realization, great courage to give up body and life, and a great heart for Chöd. This instruction should be told to someone who possesses these qualities. Become a vessel for hearing the empowerment, supreme accomplishment, and profound Dharma. Through the path of accumulation and purification, recognize the power of one's own mind. This refers to relying on the Torma empowerment to open the Dharma gate, relying on the lineage prayer to accumulate the two accumulations, relying on pursuing awareness to search for the mind, and relying on opening the door of the sky to gain recognition, these four. First, in order to make the disciple's continuum suitable as a vessel for hearing this Dharma, one should rely on the Torma empowerment to open the Dharma gate. Then, in order to allow special blessings to enter, one should give the transmission of refuge and prayers, pray to the Lama, Yidam, and Dakini, accumulate merit, and strive to adopt methods of purifying obscurations. Then, third, the ultimate culmination of all practices is meditation. The ultimate culmination of all meditation is searching for the mind. Relying on cutting off thoughts to generate meditation, thereby searching for the mind. Fourth, after all these have preceded
