Thus, if the mind of enlightenment is generated and not lost, even when one is not mindful and enters into samadhi, or when combined with wisdom, or when falling asleep, or when fainting, or when entering into samadhi without the perception of memory, or in the samadhi of non-perception, feeling, and cessation, or constantly in a state of non-perception, that is, when there is no manifestation of consciousness in five states, the "Thirty Verses" says: The consciousness of mind arises, in unconscious sleep and fainting, and in the two kinds of samadhi, constantly in a state of non-perception. Even in these states, if the mind of enlightenment has previously arisen and has not been lost, then merit will not be interrupted. As the "Entering the Path of the Bodhisattvas" says: From the time when, for the sake of liberating all sentient beings, one has resolved not to turn back, that mind has been taken, even if one sleeps or is negligent, the flow of merit will constantly arise without interruption, equal to the extent of space. Thus. Furthermore, in order to make all actions meaningful, the "Flower Ornament Sutra" says: Son of good family, whatever is endowed with the supreme mind of enlightenment, all actions of body, speech, and mind are meaningful, and constantly and solely tend towards goodness. Thus. Among them, whatever unpredicted things are done, or whatever good deeds are practiced, even if they are not immediately seized by the manifestation of the mind of enlightenment, they will be transformed into virtues of the liberation division because they are seized by the mind of enlightenment that has arisen and has not been lost. Becoming a place of offering for the world, the "Flower Ornament Sutra" says: One who possesses the mind of enlightenment is the great place of offering for all beings in the world, including gods and humans. The benefit of increasing merit more and more is: Thus, similar to the merit of, other virtues are small in fruit and exhaustible, the virtue seized by the precious mind is inexhaustible and increases. Just as clear water flows into the ocean, like a good field with abundant harvests. Thus, even a drop of water that flows into the ocean will never be exhausted and will increase even after a kalpa, just as planting a single sesame seed in a good field will greatly increase. The virtue seized by the mind of enlightenment is also the same. The "Maitreya's Questions Sutra" says: Maitreya, for example, the ocean

No matter how much great water falls, it will not be exhausted until the end of the kalpa. Maitreya. Similarly, the virtue held by the mind of enlightenment will not be exhausted until the Buddha attains the supreme enlightenment. Maitreya. Again, for example, all seeds of good origin will grow and flourish, and similarly, the virtue held by the mind of enlightenment will also greatly increase. In addition, the virtue of meritorious deeds is not like a water tree, which is exhausted after bearing fruit once. Even if countless temporary and ultimate happiness fruits are produced, it will not be exhausted and will grow, like a tree with abundant fruits. As it is said in the Bodhisattvacharyavatara: "All other virtues are like water trees, the fruit is produced and then exhausted, the tree of the mind of enlightenment always bears fruit, and it will not be exhausted and grow." Also, as it is said in the Ornament of the Heap Sutra: "Manjushri, for example, various trees are held by the four elements and grow. Manjushri, in the same way, the root of virtue is also held by the mind of enlightenment and dedicated to the knowledge of all aspects, and it will grow." The benefit of being the root of all dharmas In addition, all good dharmas, the root seed of all is the nature of compassion. In samsara, there are also many fruits of happiness, and the nature of tranquility is the cause of supreme enlightenment. Strive to generate a good and precious mind. As it is said, in the Brahma Pariprccha Sutra: Brahma, the mind of enlightenment, which is the superior intention here, is the root of all dharmas, like a seed. Why is that? Just as sprouts, leaves, flowers, and fruits arise from seeds, so the superior intention experiences many happinesses among gods and humans, and can also accomplish the knowledge of all aspects. Also, as it is said in the Rajavadana Sutra: Great King, by the ripening of the karma of the root of virtue of the mind of unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment, you have been born many times in the heavens and experienced happiness, and you have been born many times in the human realm and experienced happiness, and you can also be the master of all beings, including gods and humans.
