Just as the poor find a wish-fulfilling jewel, with doubt and fear, as if in a dream. With joy and delight, contemplate the leisure and endowment, for in this life and the next, the supreme Dharma, which brings benefit and happiness, will be accomplished. Thus, with this nectar of sweet goodness, May the meaningless distractions of all beings be completely pacified, having gone to the edge of the forest, may the mind exhausted by the thicket of afflictions, rest today. Dzogchen Semnyi Ngalso (Great Perfection, Resting the Mind) From, the first chapter, the difficulty of finding leisure and endowment. །། Thus, even if one obtains the rare leisure, it is momentary, impermanent, and of the nature of destruction. If examined closely, there is no essence to it, like a cluster of bubbles, unreliable. Therefore, one should contemplate death day and night. The root of all suffering and unhappiness, the great source of arising afflictions, this body, Although adorned with clothes, ornaments, flower garlands, etc., and offered and served with the finest foods and drinks, In the end, it is impermanent, decaying, and separating, becoming food for foxes, vultures, jackals. Abandon the mind that cherishes, clings to permanence, and purity, and from this very moment, accumulate the treasury of the sacred Dharma. The basis of the perfection of the three realms, Brahma, Indra with a thousand eyes, etc., Even those whose fame, merit, and splendor blaze forth, have no chance to overcome the Lord of Death. Even those who have attained meditative absorption and abide for eons, have a time when their karma is exhausted and they die. Gods, demigods, accomplished ones, mantra holders, kings, ordinary beings, however many there may be, Births frightened by death are endless. This life is impermanent, like a rain cloud of enjoyment, in which the Lord of Death dances with a chain of lightning. As the rain of changing days and nights falls, the sprouts of the three realms are all moistened. The outer and inner worlds are impermanent, the existence of formation and destruction, When the seven fires and one water are scattered by the wind, the surrounding ocean, continents, and mountain ranges, Mount Meru, the four precious mountains, are also impermanent, when everything becomes one in space, You must contemplate deeply and practice Dharma from the heart. The teachers of the world, the retinue of the self-arisen ones, the protectors surrounded by the sons of the Able One, Like the moon, unprecedented in the clear sky, surrounded by a chain of stars, Clear, bright, and radiant, are also impermanent and decaying.

Showing the manner of evil departure, although the precious teachings are like immeasurable sunlight, look at how the past, the past has all disappeared. One's own body is like a tree without marrow, how can an illusory house not be destroyed? Therefore, one will certainly die, when one will die, where one will die, and how one will die, there is no certainty. This life does not increase but decreases, constantly declining, the causes of death are many, and the chances of survival are few, so there is no leisure, one should restrain one's mind, and from this day on, one should diligently practice the Dharma. The palace of the four elements, sentient beings, adorned with the wavering thoughts, is also born from conditions, therefore it is a conditioned phenomenon, it is the nature of destruction, impermanent like an old city. Quickly accumulate the supreme treasure of Dharma! Like a lamp with a red wind entering, momentary impermanence, the nature of wavering, when suddenly encountering a violent cause of death, one cannot stay long, one will certainly die, so now one should accumulate the supreme treasure of Dharma! Retinue and enjoyment, close relatives and friends, beauty and youth, power and high birth, all must be abandoned, and one must go alone, whether good or bad deeds, they follow like a shadow, at that time, there is no other refuge than the Dharma, why not diligently practice today? Thus, contemplate the order of the world, before and after, countless beings of the past have all passed away, and most of the beings on the earth today will also certainly perish within a hundred years, and the beings of the future will also follow in their footsteps. Look at the old and the young, the deceased with the same fate, I have not transcended this law, thinking that I will certainly die, so accumulate the Dharma. From the hells of the three realms to the peak of existence, there is no one who can escape from the Lord of Death, everything is impermanent and changing, without essence, untrustworthy, like the rotation of a wheel. Especially the human world is full of harm, it is the root of disease, evil spirits, and disasters, swords, flames, cliffs, wild animals, poisons, kings, enemies, robbers, etc., destroy life and destroy perfection. Even without harm, the life of beings is passing away, days and nights are changing in an instant, so approaching the Lord of Death is like rivers flowing to the sea, or like
