The two pervade the sky of those to be tamed, like the rain of Dharma falling and accomplishing benefit for others, like the Tathagata. As stated in the Uttaratantra: "This conduct of a Bodhisattva, in terms of subsequent attainment of the Tathagatas and liberating sentient beings, is equal in the world." Thus it is. Although it is called that because the way of acting of the activity is similar, in both action and function, the Buddha is even more superior. As it is said: "Even so, the difference between a Buddha and a Bodhisattva is like the dust of the earth and the water in a cow's hoofprint in the ocean." Thus it is. Thus, the nine grounds of the path of meditation are divided according to the power of the nine grades of antidotes to their respective obscurations, and the nine grades of the way of arising of qualities. Fourth, among the five special dharmas, the difference in antidotes is that, relative to abandoning the defilements of the nine grounds, the two, the path of application and the path of immediate aftermath, are the antidotes to abandonment. The path of liberation is the antidote to the basis. The superior path is the antidote to continuation. That is, in the preliminary stage of the ground, in one's own continuum, that which is to be abandoned of that and that, which has become an obstacle, the coarse one, abandoning this is called the path of application. When that ground and that ground are first arising, abandoning the seed of that share of defilement is the path of immediate aftermath. From the second moment of that ground, the essence of the ground and so on is the path of liberation. At the end of the ground, having obtained special qualities, and just proceeding to the higher ground, this is called the superior path. The difference in abandonment is that all that is to be abandoned by seeing is abandoned, the coarse of those who have abandoned their share of cultivation is abandoned, and one proceeds to abandon the subtle. That is, the essence is the two, the co-emergent afflictive obscuration and the cognitive obscuration, and if classified, there are four types. If classified from the door of essence, there are six types, namely, desire, anger, pride, ignorance, the view of the collection of aggregates, and the view of holding to extremes. If classified from the door of realm, there are six in the desire realm, and in the two upper realms, there are five each except for anger, totaling sixteen. If classified from the door of ground, there are six in the desire realm, four sets of five in the four dhyanas, and four sets of five in the four formless realms, totaling forty-six. If classified from the door of ground and size, the desire realm, the first dhyana, the second dhyana, the third dhyana, the fourth dhyana, and the formless
