Thus it is said. The essence of wisdom is the non-discriminating awareness, possessing its own radiant five lights, holding the aspect of transcendence of suffering. Moreover, the essence of wisdom is awareness free from memory and thought. The definition of that term is that wisdom is so called because it is known. If divided, the wisdom of the ground is threefold: essence, nature, and compassion. The characteristics are five. The wisdom of knowable objects is twofold. The reason for the application of the word is that the meaning of "ye" is the awareness of things as they are, therefore it is wisdom. These are also distinguished by their supports, etc. From the introduction of adornments: The Lord of Secrets, the Sugata, is one who possesses the body of wisdom. The support is relying on one's own body, relying on this upper body. The place is in the heart. The path is between the heart and the eye, like a soft and entwined white silk thread, connected by one without blood or serum. That is the path of wisdom. The doors are four: two manifest doors and two hidden doors. The two manifest doors are one's own eyes. The two hidden doors are one's own ears. One's own essence is the pure Dharmakaya, the essence dwells in emptiness. Wisdom dwells clearly. The heart essence dwells transparently. The essence dwelling in emptiness means that one's own awareness itself does not establish any thing or sign, so dwelling in emptiness is this. The heart essence dwelling clearly means that the essence of one's own awareness is clear without interruption. Son of lineage, this clarity without interruption of one's own essence is the intention of the Buddha. Dwelling transparently means that the Buddha dwells in the heart, and even though covered by the body of flesh and blood, it is not obscured, and the appearance to the consciousness of one's own eyes is clear without interruption. This is the intention of wisdom's transparency. Thus it is said. These are also from the Garland of Pearls: Because the mind arises from aggregation, and is also stained by impurity itself, it accumulates in the mind that gathers the base. Because it has become a number of impurities, therefore, the distinction between mind and wisdom should be known by the wise. Mind is the basis of all habitual tendencies, it is the impurity of those with outflows. Mind grasps the object to be grasped, therefore it is the nature of samsara.

If the mind is separated, it becomes Buddha, The defilements of all embodied beings are exhausted, Sentient beings go by that mind, Without it, they cannot go into the world, Therefore, all beings are like a wheel. Since the mind is free from all actions, It is not like an inert stone without awareness, But it is knowing and illuminating. It burns all discriminations, Wisdom itself consumes like fire, It is equal to space itself, It is empty, clear, and cognizant. Therefore, wisdom reveals appearance, Undifferentiated compassion arises spontaneously, Pervading and connecting all phenomena, complete. Memory itself is without memory, Wisdom is separated from the object of memory, Wisdom itself is like this: The wisdom of the pure ground, Holding characteristics and pervading the field. Thus it is said. In "The All-Illuminating Thigle," it says: Mind and wisdom are two aspects, Not one, not different, difficult to distinguish, Mind is the activity of wisdom, The basis of mind is wisdom, Therefore, mind and wisdom, The saying of liberation and non-liberation. The distinction between mind and wisdom, Is distinguished by way of essence, Is distinguished by way of place, Is distinguished by way of path, Is distinguished by way of door, Is distinguished by way of faults and virtues. Among them, the essence of wisdom, Is the Dharma Body, pure in its nature, The way of abiding is abiding in light, The way of appearing is transparent without inner or outer, The three bodies are inseparable, beyond the obscuration of things. The essence of mind is shown as, Grasping and being grasped with hollowness. The place of mind and wisdom is shown as, The dwelling place of great wisdom, Is the thigle of the pure realm of Dharma, Now residing in the precious womb, The way of abiding is seeing the place and the appearance. The mind dwells in the city with wind. The path is also shown as two aspects, The connection of the precious ocean, Is the white, soft, hollow vein, The thigle is not stained by blood, Great wisdom pervades everywhere, This is said to be the path of wisdom, The throat is said to be the path of mind, The movement of breath within is the secret path. The door is said to be two aspects, The door of wisdom and the door of mind, The door of wisdom has two aspects, The pervasive, invisible, hidden door, Is shown as the two ears, Because of the clear nature of transparency, The manifest door is the eye.
