When awakened from sleep, Just like that, it cannot be reversed. By reversing the source of delusion—samsara, The root of delusion is destroyed, and the deluded one is liberated in their own place. Alas! Friends, delusion appears like an illusion, At the moment of appearance, it has never truly existed. Even the coarse dust particle has no directional parts. The mind is without substance, in the state of emptiness, Upon that, what and what would appear as delusion? Delusion is baseless, self-liberated, the Dharmakaya. Appearing as non-existent, like a reflection in a mirror. The pure mind itself appears like the surface of a mirror, Whatever appears as reflections of various conditions, Does not arise from the mind, it only appears in the mind. Appearance does not stain the mind in the slightest. The reflection in the mirror is merely the appearance of conditions, Does it arise from within the mirror? It is not so, it merely appears upon it. Therefore, delusion has never existed in the mind. The mind itself is the basis of the mirror, it is the Buddha itself. It is the basis of all appearances, unceasingly holding reflections. By recognizing that self-nature, the grasping and the grasped are liberated. Therefore, delusion does not arise from the mind, What appears as delusion is not other than the mind. Therefore, the self-nature of delusion is the mind itself, Without bondage or liberation, yet the appearance of bondage and liberation is wondrous! If one realizes this, one transcends all bondage and liberation. Even if this is said, if one still clings to specific things, Then the realm of understanding still has something to be realized. Having heard this, if one is free from all clinging, One will be ranked among the Vidyadharas of the three times, And will secure a firm place in the realm of Samantabhadra. Alas! Friends, at all times, The wisdom of a yogi is like the path of a bird in the sky. Like the bird's tracks that have passed, disappeared and are not seen, The previous thoughts have ceased and cannot be seen. Do not continue to pursue and cling to them. Like the bird's tracks in the future, like the unreal future, Do not trouble yourself with future thoughts. Like the bird's tracks in the present, without color or shape, For the present thoughts, maintain a normal, natural state, Do not artificially modify them with remedies. Whatever it is, do not deliberately cling to it. Do not discriminate with "is" or "is not." Do not engage in affirmation or negation with clinging. Whatever appears, do not cling to it. This is the ultimate essential instruction. Whatever appears, if you do not cling to it, Afflictions are self-liberated, becoming great wisdom.
