It is called the Oral Instruction Record. A (ཨྠིྀ, Tibetan seed syllable, Devanagari: अ, Romanized Sanskrit: a, literal meaning: none). Homage to the glorious certainty of one's own mind! The channels are like the four knots, as well as the knots at the place of origin, the heart, the throat, and the Brahma aperture. Although there are countless profound secret tantras and oral instructions, they are all gathered into four essential oral instructions. Calculating these oral instructions, there are the names of the sections and the names of the mothers and sons, written clearly in order as follows. These four oral instructions, which have not been shown to anyone, are the heart treasure of all yogis, so accompany your own mind with a joyful heart. The names of those mothers and sons, although I cannot bear to express in words, I ask forgiveness from the gurus and the families of the dakinis, and for the sake of future generations, keep this definite number of sections in mind. The sections of the three after-past are: The first after-past of the Joyful Land (དགའ་ལྡན) and others is: declared as the first root of all oral instructions. Descending into the charnel ground of profound secret play, it is declared as the way of explaining the first. The third descends to Vulture Peak Mountain (བྱ་རྒོད་ཕུང་པོའི་རི, present-day Vulture Peak), it is declared as the way of commenting on the second. Thus, the three sections complete the after-past. If there are more than this number, the meaning of the essence will be confused; if there are fewer than this number, the oral instructions will not be complete. Therefore, the secret oral instruction record is very precious, more than one's own heart. Do not easily speak its name, but determine the sections in this way: Anyone who likes elaboration should use the names of the sections to determine these. With the lamp that cuts elaboration, the method of learning to arise is declared. With the habitual key oral instructions that symbolize the six essentials, the foundation is declared. With the method oral instructions that tame one's own mind, the order of entry for the inferior is declared. Therefore, cherish the oral instructions that are embraced without sectarianism. With the hidden eye-opener, the view, meditation, and conduct are declared. With the lamp that summarizes conduct, the characteristics of conduct are declared. With the lamp that summarizes meditation, the meditation of the eye is declared. With the lamp that summarizes view, the inner and outer views are declared. If there is no lineage testament, then the entrance is not clear. Thus, with two sons and one mother, the third after death is accomplished with the three. Therefore, the secret catalog is essential. If there is no guidance of the attachment phowa, then the attached one cannot enter the path. If there is no guidance of the wind phowa, then one does not know the time of practice.
