Now it is widely known. Soon after, in the northern Puṣpahari, he approached the feet of glorious Nāropa, and during that time, Lord Nāropa taught the Dharma in the intervals between the four sessions of meditation, thereby hearing the root and explanatory tantras and oral instructions of the great King of Tantras, Hevajra, as well as various other extraordinary teachings such as Guhyasamāja, Māyā, etc. Because the root guru was very compassionate in his acceptance, he received the Hevajra initiation about seven times in total. After a few years, he intended to go to Tibet to search for gold, and when he arrived in Nepal, his books were washed away by the flood, and the road was not easy to travel. So he borrowed four sho of gold from a friend in Nepal and returned to India. Lord Nāropa said, "Rather than you going to Tibet to get gold, I am very happy that you have come here to cut off doubts about the Dharma." He bestowed many rare teachings that he had not received before, and stayed for nearly a year. It is said that he stayed in India for a total of twelve years, but including the journey to Nepal, it seems that he stayed in India for about seven years. Even so, the song says: The Indian Nāropa Paṇḍita, and I, the Tibetan Marpa Lotsāwa, met in the city adorned with flowers, and the monastery on the golden mountain. That seems like the fulfillment of past wishes. In that sacred place known as the place of blessings, I served the venerable one with a beautiful form for six years and seven months, and received the complete empowerment seven times. It is like that. After that, in order to repay the kindness of the lamas, he went to Tibet to search for gold at the beginning of his twenty-ninth year. It is said that he went with Kharag Smyos Lo when he returned to Tibet, but it is clear that they arrived slightly before and after each other. In order to commemorate the help that Smyos Lo provided to Marpa in India and Nepal in finding gold and other things, Marpa later gave Smyos the Hevajra stone statue, the object of Nāropa's samaya, and some of the objects from India that he liked. It is said that Nāropa's samaya stone statue still exists today as an inner offering in Gyerelhasa, and I have also seen it myself. In view of this situation, the story that Smyos Lo threw Marpa's books into the water out of jealousy is now widely circulated in Marpa's biographies, but this may be a textual error, or confused with another person, and was not actually done by Smyos Lo.

The true and false are different. Then, Marpa stayed in Tibet for three years. Gyese Bu Zlok Kyawa of Lato Jang (La stod byang) became a disciple with offerings like Nelen (Ne len). He went north to search for gold and met the gold mine of Namra (Nam ra), and Marpa greatly helped Go Lek (mGo legs). Later, he went to India as soon as possible. At that time, Naropa was in the time of practicing conduct, holding only a hand drum and a skull in his hands. He gave all his belongings to his disciples. It is said that Marpa's relic was a Thangka of Hevajra. At that time, the old disciples gathered a little. Like that, he only gave some blessings, dispelled doubts, and cut off hesitations. Apart from that, empowerment, transmission explanations, etc., were not very obvious. There were many games of entering towns, offering the knife of a robber to Kapala, melting it like butter and eating it, etc., and he seemed to have done things for countless beings related to karma and ways of seeing. At that time, the great Lord Maitripa returned from the Auspicious Mountain (dPal gyi ri), which was the time when the altruistic activities had just begun. As predicted by Naropa, Marpa seemed to meet him. At that time and later when he went, he heard many instructions such as Hevajra Two Examinations (dGyes rdor brtag gnyis), Vajra Tent Buddha Skull (rDo rje gur sangs rgyas thod pa), Praise of Names and the Essence of Meaning, Dohas, etc., and the realization of Mahamudra dawned like the sky. Moreover, in the song it says: Due to the kindness of the great Lord, I realized that the basis, the nature of reality, is unborn. The mind is combined with emptiness. My fabrications are cut off from then on. Just as it is said. In addition, during those times when he went to India before and after, he relied on those known as Black Peaceful Good (nag po zhi ba bzang po), the five accomplished ones such as the Pandit Yeshe Nyingpo (ye shes snying po), the Dakini adorned with human bones, and the thirteen well-known Lamas of Manifestation Transformation, as well as the male and female yogis Kusali (kusāli) Lamas who lived secretly unknown. Later, relying on Naropa's prophecy, he went to the shore of the Poison Sea with great difficulty, and it seems that he also personally met the great scholar Kukkuripa. Peaceful Good (zhi ba bzang po) is also the Lama relied upon by Go Khukpa Lhatse ('Gos khug pa lha btsas), and the place where he resides is the residence of the King of Go Lo, and Mar
