Oh, Dharma! The person who practices is the Sangha among the Vidyadharas. Among the three Inner Tantras, the Lama who bestows the initiation of entry and the instructions for liberation is the Buddha. The two instructions for maturation and liberation are the Dharma Jewel. Thus, the person who practices is the Sangha among the Vidyadharas, and these three roots converge into the nature of the Three Jewels. If distinguished, it can be divided into nine refuges, but if gathered together, it converges into the single Lama. So far, the meaning of taking refuge has been slightly discussed. Now, to practice and apply the combination, there are two types: session and post-session. For the session itself, there are two day sessions and two night sessions, whether it's four or eight. First, for the session, there are three parts: preliminary, main practice, and concluding practice. First, for the preliminary, there are four key points: body posture, speech, mind, and supplication. These four must be applied to all sessions. The key point of the body is the seven-point posture of Vairochana, or a relaxed seven-point posture, or sitting upright in the vajra posture. The key point of speech is to clear the impure air. One can perform three or nine purifications of the air as desired, visualizing that all the karma accumulated from beginningless time by oneself and others, sins and downfalls, broken vows, obstacles and hindrances on the profound path, all transform into the form of black air and exhale it out. The key point of the mind is that one must correct the motivation. First, eliminate negative motivations, correct neutral ones, and transform the motivation with the thought of Bodhicitta. For supplication, one can either transform the Lama's appearance or not. On the crown of the head, visualize a lotus with hundreds of thousands of petals blooming, and in the center of the red and yellow stamens, on a moon cushion, on a lion throne, on a stack of silk cushions, visualize oneself in the form of a monastic or a mantra practitioner. With the devotion of seeing the Buddha directly, one must supplicate for the desired meaning. And when contemplating the difficulty of obtaining leisure and endowment, supplicate that the Lama's qualities of realizing the essence of leisure and endowment may arise in one's own mindstream. Afterwards, visualize the Lama dissolving into light and merging into oneself, and then abide in equanimity. Similarly, when meditating on common and uncommon practices, supplicate that the qualities of the Lama's mindstream may arise in one's own mindstream.

And the mixing of mind and placing it equally is to be familiar with all sessions. Secondly, the actual basis of the session is: among the three, maturation, liberation, and purification of the Bodhisattvas, this is the purification of the field, so all the ground is visualized as a precious ground, drawn in a checkerboard pattern. Far away in front of oneself, a wish-fulfilling tree made of various precious things, on the central of the five branches, on a lion throne with silk brocade and stacked cushions. The essence is the root guru, the form is the form of Orgyen Rinpoche (Padmasambhava). On the top of his head, in a circular halo of five lights, reside the lineage gurus. Around the throne are the gurus from whom one has received empowerment and so on. Around that, the deities of the four or six tantra classes of Yidam are visualized. On the right branch, the Buddhas and so on, surrounded by male Dharma protectors, facing outwards, performing the activity of not letting external enemies and obstacles enter. All the female protectors, facing inwards, perform the activity of not letting internal attainments leak out. Around that, all the wealth deities, treasure owners, and so on, are manifestations of the great wisdom of the guru's mind, without good or bad, high or low. Possessing the wisdom of knowing all forms, seeing with eyes that transcend humans, hearing with ears that transcend humans, understanding with a mind that transcends humans. Meditate that they are abiding as the guide who leads us. The sentient beings to be saved are on one's right, fathers and so on, like a crowd gathered on the ground, visualize them wearing gorgeous clothes and being smoky. Then, one recites the words of refuge like a guide. Here, in the absence of prostration, the bodies of oneself and others respectfully join palms. The mouth respectfully speaks the words of refuge. From the depths of the heart and bones, with a respectful mind: from this day onwards, until attaining ultimate Buddhahood, high up it can send me to the realm of the Buddhas, low down it can send me to hell, whether clever or foolish, sick or healthy, happy or suffering, I will not ask my father's opinion, I will not consult my mother, I will not make my own decisions. Guru, Three Jewels, you three know, you discern, other than you, there is no other hope or refuge.
