If, after taking vows, one does not break them, then one raises the victory banner of the Buddha's teachings and becomes the one who overthrows the banner of the demons. Even if one breaks them, confessing according to the Dharma is also raising the victory banner of the teachings and overthrowing the banner of the demons. Therefore, one must not be complacent but must confess. Confess from the depths of one's heart, and rejoice in others who are virtuous, and one will become virtuous oneself. If the aspiration and engagement aspects of Bodhicitta are weakened, confess before one-sixth of the day has passed, and it will not become a root downfall. Therefore, one must confess before one-sixth of the day has passed. If the Samaya vows of mantra are broken, one must remedy them with antidotes, just like a Bodhisattva. All the Samaya vows of mantra are included in the vows of body, speech, and mind. Regarding the vows of body, one does not disrespect the body of the Lama and Dharma brothers/sisters. Regarding the vows of speech, one does not disobey the words of the Lama and Dharma brothers/sisters. The recitation of the Yidam deity should ideally be continuous like a river, moderately on the 10th and 25th of each month, six times a day, or at least every month, or even more minimally, one should strive to recite without interruption during the New Year (Tibetan New Year) festival. Regarding the vows of mind, one must protect the ten secrets and not disturb the minds of the Lama and Dharma brothers/sisters. When contemplating the example of what is difficult to obtain, according to the lineage of instructions, one must first contemplate the difficulty of obtaining it from the perspective of the cause. Drakgyal said: "This attainment of leisure and fortune in human form is not due to a tall phallus, but is the result of accumulating merit." This is what it indicates. Among these, there are two types: general and specific. First, one should contemplate what virtuous deeds one has accumulated in the past and what virtuous deeds one is accumulating now. Even if one has accumulated some virtuous deeds, one has accumulated immeasurable negative deeds, so it is difficult to even obtain leisure, let alone fortune. Specifically, to obtain leisure, one must maintain pure moral conduct. To obtain fortune, one must accumulate a vast amount of virtuous deeds such as generosity. Furthermore, to obtain leisure and fortune, one must connect with pure causes, aspirations, and prayers. First, the cause for obtaining leisure is moral conduct, externally the Pratimoksha vows, including the 253 precepts of abandonment and the 47 precepts of practice. Regarding these abandonments and practices, one must first contemplate the four root vows in detail. Merely covering up due to natural shame, without actually violating the root, is not the vow of Pratimoksha.

It is also difficult to have confidence in the discipline that makes it possible to obtain leisure and endowment. It is even more difficult to contemplate the profound precepts of the bodhisattva, the eighteen root downfalls and twenty-two vows of aspiration and application, and the eighty secondary transgressions. It is extremely difficult to have confidence in the cause of obtaining leisure and endowment by accepting and rejecting the four root downfalls, eight combinations, and forty-six secondary transgressions of the vast conduct. Of the Secret Mantra Vajrayana: The initial twenty-five ascetic practices, the vows of the five common outer and inner lineages, the fourteen root downfalls, the eight secondary gross transgressions, the twenty-seven root vows of the Great Perfection that must be protected in stages, divided into the body, speech, and mind of the lama, the twenty-five secondary vows, the four spontaneously accomplished vows that do not need to be protected, and the hundreds of thousands of secondary vows of samaya, it is rarer than a star in the daytime to have confidence in the cause of obtaining leisure and endowment. Even if there is a pure discipline as a cause for obtaining leisure and endowment, what kind of offering, such as generosity and other virtuous deeds, has been made to the Three Jewels above, or what kind of generosity has been given to beggars below, as a cause for obtaining wealth? It is also difficult to examine one's own mind. Even if one has kept the discipline and given generosity, one should examine whether or not it has been sealed with pure aspirations. Even if one has not specifically sealed it with pure aspirations for the sake of obtaining leisure and endowment, if one has accomplished a genuine virtue such as discipline, etc., embraced by the precious bodhicitta, just as when one sows seeds for the sake of the autumn harvest, the saplings and leaves naturally emerge, if one has accomplished a virtue aimed at the state of buddhahood, which knows all aspects, then one will naturally obtain a special body of gods and humans in the meantime, such as a brahmin lineage sala tree, a householder lineage sala tree, or a royal lineage sala tree, etc. Therefore, one must examine carefully, think repeatedly, and meditate alternately. If one thinks well in this way, as it is said, "Look at the present body, know what was done in the past," one has obtained this special body through the fruit of merit accumulated in the past.
