I have also been to the radiant world. I can also shake worlds as large as Mount Meru. But I cannot even move this small vajra. Has my miraculous power declined?” The Bhagavan replied, “Your miraculous power has not declined. However, this blessing of a Bodhisattva cannot be shaken even by Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, let alone other sentient beings. Even if one could move all the Mount Merus, the kings of mountains, in Buddha-fields as numerous as the sands of the Ganges, one could not move this vajra from here.” Mogala's son then said, “The secret lord who holds this vajra is truly amazing with great strength! Does Vajrapani's strength come from his parents, or from miraculous power?” The Bhagavan replied, “Mogala's son, the strength that comes from parents is insignificant; it is merely a name given for convenience. If the miraculous power of a Bodhisattva were fully displayed, the world, including the gods, would faint.” Then, the Bhagavan said to Vajrapani, “Lift that vajra.” The secret lord shook the world, then lifted the vajra with his left hand, threw it into the sky, spun it around seven times, and placed it in his right hand.
