If asked, what is the purpose of doing so? The answer is: It is for the purpose of taming the difficult-to-tame beings. If asked, who is that? In general, it is those who are ignorant of the root of existence, deluded about the self, with the discriminating thoughts of ignorance, clinging to the self, and although all phenomena are merely conceptual constructs of the mind and are not truly established, they are attached to the object of misapprehension as 'mine,' and therefore are separated from the correct path that liberates from samsara, and are bound to existence. On top of that, especially Rudra, without realizing the hidden secret, the reality of suchness, indulging in hidden secrets, such as union and liberation, engaging in scattered conduct. Moreover, due to ignorance of the explanation of good and evil in the cause and happiness and suffering in the result. Such conduct is the cause of falling into Rudra. Furthermore, from the seed of being born into existence, thrown by non-virtuous deeds, without an intermediate state, one is born in an instant into the extremely hot hell. There, being tormented for a long time by the intense suffering of extreme heat, thinking that it would be better if it were colder than this, as soon as the thought arises, one is pierced by needles and the like, experiencing cold. The intense suffering of the body cracking open like a lotus, I am intensely tormented. Such suffering, extreme heat, etc., from the hot hells to the reviving hells, there are eight, and from extreme cold to cracking open like a lotus, etc., to the blister hells, there are eight, these sixteen hot and cold hells.

互相成双成对地，以各类的生处，当世界坏灭的时候，就流转迁移到其他的世界。寿命是十二千大劫，感受寒热的痛苦。之后，地狱的业成熟之力耗尽。生为饿鬼，遭受极度逼迫的饥渴之苦，具有共同的业障。外境的欲妙事物，都变得不悦意，如同见到黑水一般，具有外障。稍微得到饮食，制作出来时，就变成凶猛粗暴之物，如火等。变成各种各样，焚烧内脏等，具有火焰轮。见到食物等，想要享用而靠近时，连一点点东西都没有，身体极其瘦弱干枯，肚子像山一样大，嘴巴像针眼一样小等等，身体和肢体以及感官都不协调，可怜巴巴地这样流转于世界六大劫。之后，饿鬼的粗猛业障稍微减轻。往昔因邪咒之故，与鲁扎的血脉相合。被饿鬼所摄的大魔，有鸟的翅膀，身体极其恐怖，心怀恶毒，愤怒而凶暴。以业力的神通，一个身体有一百个头，而且头的外形各不相同，各种各样。一百个身体只有一个头，有老虎狮子等的各种身体。一个身体有很多肢体，肢体的种类各不相同。他们拿着弓箭等各种凶猛的武器。杀戮的眷属，鸟类野兽等非常众多。恐怖的化身，星宿罪恶等等各种各样。发出恐怖的声音，啦啦啦啦等等各种各样的声音。恐怖的形象和不悦耳的嚎叫。用难闻的气味和气息散布疾病。使一切有情都感到毛骨悚然。极其恐怖的黑风覆盖四面八方。寒冷和炎热的气息在十方，使所有的虚空界都动荡不安。

Paired with each other, through various birthplaces, when the world is destroyed, they transmigrate and move to other realms. Their lifespan is twelve thousand great kalpas, experiencing the suffering of heat and cold. Then, the ripening of the karma of being born in hell is exhausted by the power of experience. Born as a hungry ghost, they suffer the extreme torment of hunger and thirst, possessing common obscurations. External objects of desire become displeasing, like seeing black water, possessing external obscurations. When they manage to find a little food and drink, it turns into fierce and rough substances like fire. Transforming into various forms, burning the internal organs, etc., possessing wheels of flame. When they see food and drink and approach it desiring to consume it, even a tiny bit of substance disappears completely. Their bodies become extremely thin and dry, their stomachs as large as mountains, their mouths as small as needle eyes, etc. Their bodies, limbs, and senses are uncoordinated, wretchedly transmigrating through the world for six great kalpas. Then, the coarse obscuration of the karma of being born as a hungry ghost slightly diminishes. In the past, due to the power of perverse mantra practice, they were united with the lineage of Rudra. The great demon, gathered by those who go to the realm of hungry ghosts, has the wings of a bird, a body that is extremely terrifying, a mind that is malicious, wrathful, and violent. Through the magical power of karma, one body has a hundred heads, and these heads have various different appearances. There are also a hundred bodies with only one head, and various bodies like tigers and lions. One body has many limbs, and the types of limbs are all different. They hold various fierce weapons such as bows and arrows. The retinue of killers, birds, beasts, etc., are extremely numerous. There are terrifying emanations, constellations, sins, and so on, of all kinds. They proclaim terrifying sounds, "ra la ra la," and so on, of all kinds. There are terrifying forms and unpleasant roars. They spread diseases with foul odors and breaths, causing all sentient beings to shudder with fear. An extremely terrifying black wind covers all directions. Cold and hot breaths in the ten directions agitate all of space.
