Because of accumulating arrogance and swallowing all the mud, those arrogant ones regained their memory, and obtained the samadhi that distinguishes appearances, and directly saw the assembly of the wrathful deity mandala of inconceivable spontaneous accomplishment. All those wrathful deities have nine hundred heads, one thousand eight hundred hands, eight hundred feet, and their bodies burn with immeasurable splendor. I saw them residing in the great mandala. At the time of subduing the evil Rudra with the miraculous power of wisdom, all those who should be subdued, pervading the three realms of the six realms and ten directions, all the arrogant great Ishvaras who rule and control everything, in accordance with how each should be subdued, manifested inconceivable plays of subduing methods, appearing in their respective realms, without precedence or subsequence, were subdued simultaneously. From that transferred place, those arrogant ones trembled greatly in body due to fear, and their minds were terrified and extremely lost courage, and with trembling voices said: We are your subjects, we must be your subjects. If we do not sincerely become your subjects, then our heads and bodies will be split into a hundred pieces, and our hearts will also be split into pieces and chopped into chunks. Our bodies will also rot and be crushed, burned to ashes by the fire of curses, and in the next life we will fall into the Vajra Hell and cry out in agony. They swore to become subjects in this way, and offered their respective bodies as cushions for the mandala of the five blood-drinking families. Then, all the arrogant ones said in unison: We offer our wives, mothers, daughters, and sisters to the great mandala of wrathful deities, please accept them. May the great gods, the heroes who subdue the arrogant, and the glorious Heruka who has become the lord, accept them. Thus, offering their retinues and vowing to make offerings: We, each with our retinues, even to the yogi who merely holds the name of this great mandala of the assembly of wrathful deities seen in this way, as if offering a shining jewel with our own heads, with a mind without deception and with utmost reverence, in every way, we place it on the crown of our heads.
