如果修持地神成就，总的来说会成就什么事业呢？此续部的事业有寂静等三种，如续部所说：寂静与增益，以及猛厉事业行，总的事业有三种，一切密咒中都宣说了。如是宣说。为了显示它们将会成就，所以说了寂静等。所谓寂静，就是使一切罪恶等消失。所谓增益，就是使一切受用等增长。所谓使一切有情僵化，就是使恶毒者不费吹灰之力。所谓使昏昧，就是使一切记忆丧失。如此宣示，如果某人遭受非人等的损害，修行者应在白色地方铺设白色衣服等，积聚白色物品，以具足这些的寂静之心，行持寂静事业，则会成就大寂静。如果某人想要增长寿命等，应穿黄色衣服等，积聚黄色物品，行持增益事业，则会成就增益。如果某人想要对食肉者等行持猛厉事业，应在黑色地方穿黑色衣服等，积聚黑色物品，以憎恨之心行持现行事业，则会成就僵化等，是这个意思。像这样行持的续部，会变成哪一族呢？有三族，即如来族等。这本身是哪一族呢？这是金刚族，因为显示了猛厉事业。如续部所说：善逝行寂静，莲花族生行增益，金刚族说密咒，行持猛厉事业。如是宣说。如果那样，那么先前所说的是否矛盾呢？每一族也行持三种事业，所以没有矛盾。如此续部所说：智者于三族，显示殊胜等，以寂静等差别，事业应做三种。如是宣说。如果那样，那么是否矛盾呢？这是就主要意义而言。

If the practice of the earth deity is accomplished, what kind of activities will be accomplished in general? In this tantra, the activities are threefold, such as pacifying. As it is said in the tantra: Pacifying and increasing, and likewise, fierce activities. In short, activities are threefold, proclaimed in all mantras. Thus it is said. To show that these will be accomplished, pacifying and so on are mentioned. Pacifying means eliminating all sins and so on. Increasing means increasing all enjoyments and so on. Making all sentient beings stiff means making the malicious ones effortless. Making them faint means making them lose all memory. Thus it is shown that if someone suffers harm from non-humans and so on, practitioners should spread white clothes and so on in white places, accumulate white objects, and with a pacifying mind endowed with these, perform pacifying activities, then great pacifying will be accomplished. If someone wants to increase life and so on, they should wear yellow clothes and so on, accumulate yellow objects, and perform increasing activities, then increasing will be accomplished. If someone wants to perform fierce activities against meat-eaters and so on, they should wear black clothes and so on in black places, accumulate black objects, and with a hateful mind, perform direct activities, then stiffening and so on will be accomplished, that is the meaning. This tantra, which is practiced in this way, will become which family? There are three families, namely the Tathagata family and so on. Which family is this itself? This is the Vajra family, because it shows fierce activities. As it is said in the tantra: The Sugata performs pacifying, the Lotus family performs increasing, the Vajra family speaks mantras, and performs fierce activities. Thus it is said. If so, are the previous statements contradictory? Each family also performs three activities, so there is no contradiction. As it is said in the tantra: The wise should show excellence and so on in all three families, and activities should be done in three ways with the distinction of pacifying and so on. Thus it is said.
