心生欢喜之后，从所有佛陀处，以殊胜幻化之王所请问的法类，听闻了戒律、神通、智慧、胜观这四种幻化，现证之后，从燃灯佛处获得了授记。 再次，在过去无量劫之前，在清净劫中，于名为大庄严世界中，有如来名为药王，住世寿命长达二十中劫。其时，有转轮王名为宝伞，统治四大部洲，拥有一千个儿子。他在五个中劫的时间里，以一切安乐资具，描绘了包括世尊在内的眷属形象，那一千个儿子也在五个劫的时间里，做了供养。那一千个儿子中，这位世尊转世为王子月伞，他独自前往寂静处，心想是否有比这些供养更殊胜的供养呢？由于佛陀的加持，从虚空中诸天说道：法供养是所有供养中最殊胜的。听闻之后，他问道：什么是法供养呢？诸天说道：去请问如来药王吧。如是请问佛陀之后，佛陀开示道：善男子，法供养就是，对于如来甚深经藏，与一切世间相违，难以证悟，不可见，菩萨藏，摄入陀罗尼和波罗蜜多等，宣说不退转法轮，为一切诸佛所赞叹的经典，如是如理作意、受持、忆念和总持，就是法供养。等等。王子月伞因此获得了随顺于法的忍，于是以衣饰和珍宝供养世尊，并请求道：我乐于受持正法，请您如此加持我。之后，他出家并精进修行，不久之后就获得了神通、陀罗尼和无碍辩才。在那位如来涅槃之后，他仍然转动那位佛陀的法轮，如是讲经说法长达十劫之久。

Having rejoiced, from all the Buddhas, through the Dharma categories requested by the King of Supreme Emanations, having heard the four emanations of discipline, clairvoyance, knowledge, and wisdom, having directly realized them, he received the prophecy from Dipamkara. Furthermore, in the past, immeasurable eons ago, in the eon of purification, in the world system of Great Array, there was a Tathagata named King of Medicine, who lived for twenty intermediate eons. At that time, there was a Chakravartin king named Precious Umbrella, who ruled over the four continents and had a thousand sons. For five intermediate eons, he depicted the Blessed One and his retinue with all the implements of happiness, and those thousand sons also served him for five eons. Among those thousand sons, this Blessed One was born as Prince Moon Umbrella. He went to a secluded place and wondered if there was a more excellent offering than those offerings. Through the blessing of the Buddha, gods from the sky said, "The Dharma offering is the most excellent of all offerings." Having heard this, he asked, "What is the Dharma offering?" The gods said, "Ask the Tathagata King of Medicine." As he asked the Buddha, he replied, "Son of good family, the Dharma offering is the profound Sutras of the Tathagata, which are contrary to all the world, difficult to realize, invisible, the treasury of Bodhisattvas, entering into Dharanis and Paramitas, teaching the irreversible wheel, praised by all the Buddhas. To properly hold, maintain, contemplate, and gather such teachings is the Dharma offering." And so on. Prince Moon Umbrella thus obtained the forbearance that accords with the Dharma, and offered the Blessed One with whatever clothes and ornaments he had, and requested, "I am delighted to hold the sacred Dharma, please bless me in this way." Then, he renounced and practiced diligently, and before long, he obtained clairvoyance, Dharani, and eloquence. After that Tathagata passed away, he continued to turn the wheel of Dharma of that Buddha, teaching the Dharma in such a way for ten eons.

And thus caused countless beings to mature. ༈ Again, in a past life, when a Tathagata named Meaningful Departure appeared, in his teachings, the Blessed One himself was a monk named Fame Light, who was well-versed in the Great Vehicle. He thought: Until I attain unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, even if my skin, sinews, and bones dry up, and my body, flesh, and blood completely dry up, I will not abandon this diligence. Then, in front of that Tathagata, he wrapped his body with a piece of cloth, anointed it with sesame oil, and lit a lamp in front of him. As the fire burned his body, he praised with verses: Guide, self-born, mind pure, boundless, supreme, most high, abandoning faults, arrogance, and all misdeeds, have compassion for beings who have entered the wrong path, please show the supreme state, and so on. ༈ Again, in the past there was a Tathagata named Hundred Rays, who taught the Dharma through Buddhas emanated from rays of light, causing countless beings to obtain forbearance of the unborn Dharma. The attendant of this Tathagata, a monk named Undiminished Eye, was the Blessed One himself. He was skilled in the thoughts of those beings who were tamed by the emanations of the Tathagata. When the Tathagata taught the Dharma, he also taught the Dharma, and after hearing it, he also served. Just by serving, countless beings attained the irreversible state from unsurpassed perfect enlightenment. ༈ Again, countless eons ago, in the teachings of a Tathagata named Undiminished Fame, the Blessed One himself was a Bodhisattva named Supreme Conduct, who possessed unwavering qualities from the vows he had taken from his chosen deity. The nature of his chosen deity's vow was as follows: As long as the beings in the Buddha-field where I attain enlightenment have not become vessels for unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, I will not manifest and attain unsurpassed enlightenment. Similarly, all beings born in my Buddha-field will quickly attain clairvoyance and will completely pass beyond suffering through the path of bliss. Not turning back from the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, in that realm there are no categories of the three lower realms and asuras, and not even the sound of suffering. All beings born in that realm are bodhisattvas, and except for those who remain by their vows, they will become those with a final existence. Thus, the chosen deity is firmly established. That realm is perfected with these and other qualities, and at the time of attaining Buddhahood, one should also know that the liberation of Buddhahood is shown in such a pure realm. ༈ Also, in the past, a king named Pure Intellect made offerings to immeasurable Buddhas. I will not please the Buddhas with offerings of marks and signs, nor will I make worldly, defiled offerings. Because I desire the wisdom of omniscience, I will make offerings to the Tathagata that please his heart. For the benefit of all sentient beings, after attaining Buddhahood, I will lead those sentient beings to Buddhahood through the swift path of clairvoyance. Thus he thought. May the Buddha-field where I attain Buddhahood not become a place where there are too many or too few Buddhas. Thus, he generated roots of virtue, and therefore, in this Fortunate Aeon, nine hundred and ninety Buddhas have appeared. Thus, he made pure offerings of body, speech, and mind to immeasurable Tathagatas, generated immeasurable roots of virtue, and with intense thought, he remained in the scriptures of those Buddhas. Because of these roots of virtue, the Buddha-field became vast and immeasurable, so it is said. ༈ Also, in the past, when the Tathagata Amitabha appeared, in that realm, this Bhagavan was a bodhisattva named Fierce Glory, and he became the leader of eight hundred thousand bodhisattvas. He was skilled in means, proficient in the activities of sentient beings, teaching the Dharma, and knowing the right time to go to the presence of sentient beings. Therefore, he possessed immeasurable qualities of a bodhisattva who teaches the Dharma to others. When that bodhisattva looked at the Tathagata Amitabha and traveled from Buddha-field to Buddha-field, the field where he placed his feet allowed sentient beings to truly know that a Buddha had appeared, and

Making the brave rejoice and the realm of the gods exceedingly joyful, those lands are pervaded by light like the color of gold. Those sentient beings wondered, "From which direction does this light come?" From the sky came the sound, "All these lands are pervaded by the light of the Tathagata. Whoever wishes to see the Tathagata, join their palms and say they wish to see the Tathagata, and they will see the Tathagata." Those sentient beings, hearing that sound, joined their palms and uttered the sound, "May you bring us together with the Tathagata." To them, the Tathagata manifested hundreds of thousands of emanations, each sentient being knowing only one emanation and not seeing the others. On that day, through the light of the light-wheel, countless Bodhisattvas in immeasurable Buddha-fields become irreversible for my sake. Then, the Tathagata Amitabha generated the power, strength, and diligence of the Bodhisattva with fierce splendor and said, "Son of good family, go and follow my light! Wherever you see the light abiding, know that to be my Buddha-field." The Tathagata emitted golden light. He followed those lights with miraculous power, but even after countless eons, he could not see the end of the light and became weary and discouraged. Then, a Buddha-body appeared from the sky and said, "Son of good family, do not dwell on the cause of weariness, do not be discouraged, but continue on for a while!" Then, the Tathagata Amitabha manifested miraculous powers, removing the weariness of his body and generating diligence in his mind. After countless eons, he saw a jeweled tree, and beyond that tree, he saw light again. At that time, he draped his upper robe over one shoulder, placed his right knee on the ground, and supplicated the Tathagata Amitabha: "Your mind is free from defilement, abandoning fabrication. You encompass all realms in your heart. Guide, you
