When entrusting the (prince) to the son of Chandra Gomi (月官), a disciple named Marici, the Brahmin Vahika, begged for the servant including the lotus woman and the child for the offering of the master, gave it to him, took it and offered it to the master. At this time, King Durlabha of Kuru sent an envoy to ask for the elephant Good Mountain, but because it had already been given to the leader before, he was not given it, (Durlabha) was angry, gathered an army and came to fight. There, King Cudanmani fought with courage, although he was able to defeat the other side, but with compassion in his heart, he thought: 'Alas, King Durlabha, although he is my friend, but because he is greedy for elephants, he immediately became an enemy, this foolish man deserves pity.' Thinking like this, (the king) wanted to go to the forest. Four Pratyekabuddhas came naturally from the sky, and told the king to go, and persuaded him to go to the forest. So he went with them, and the Pratyekabuddhas returned to their own dwellings. The king lived in the snowy mountain forest. After that, the ministers of Cudanmani took back the son of King Cudanmani, and (Marici) gave it to them. The minister took the prince back to his city, led the army, defeated the army of King Durlabha of Kuru, and then returned. At this time, there was a great famine and plague in the city of King Durlabha, and the people were very distressed. When asked what to do, the ministers said: 'If we can find the Cudanmani of King Cudanmani, the jewel with the moisture of nectar, we can be freed from this disaster. It is said that if you ask the king who lives on the snowy mountain, he will give you anything.' The king sent five Brahmins to ask for the jewel. At this time, King Cudanmani came to the vicinity of Chandra Gomi (月官) who lived on the top of Mount Malaya. There, the goddess Padma, eating roots and fruits, came to the deserted forest, trembling because she was afraid that the hunter wanted to catch her, and uttering a wail, she heard the call 'Alas, my master Cudanmani'. King Cudanmani ran over and saw that the lotus woman was weak and in great pain, and the hunter ran away. The lotus woman also saw the king in the forest

Seeing hunger and suffering, joy arose simultaneously upon seeing that. Then, the evil demon came in the form of a man and said to the king, 'You should not send this beloved consort to the forest, nor should you abandon the kingdom.' Knowing it was a demon, the king smiled and said, 'The subdued and peaceful cannot be deluded by desire.' With that, the demon disappeared. When Padmacan uttered lamentations with words of disillusionment, the king said to her, 'Goddess, it is fitting to practice Dharma, not to grieve.' He then spoke of impermanence and the Dharma, and Padmacan returned. Then, five Brahmins sent by King Kṣānti sought the jewel from the crown of his head to pacify the calamities in the land. He said, 'Cut off this jewel that grows on my head and take it!' As soon as he spoke, the great earth shook. They cut off the crown of his head with sharp weapons and took the jewel that shone with light. At that time, the gods gathered in the sky to watch. The king's body, like a garment stained with blood, generated great compassion for all sentient beings in samsara, suppressed his own suffering, and made the aspiration to liberate all suffering sentient beings through the merit of giving the jewel. Then, the king himself took the jewel and gave it to the Brahmins, who carried it to the city of King Kṣānti, and all the calamities were pacified. Then, the ascetics of Bhṛgu's son, Gotama, and Marīci, and others, having heard that such a precious jewel had been given, came there from the forest. The goddess Padmacan also followed Marīci himself, and seeing the king in that state, she fell to the ground. Then, the gods of the sky proclaimed the king's fame, spreading it in all directions. At that time, the king's son, together with the assembly of ministers, came to the king's presence, and seeing the king's body lying on the ground like a garment stained with blood, they lamented, saying, 'Alas! Giving up one's life for the sake of others!' The ascetic Marīci also looked at the ruler of the earth with tearful eyes and asked, 'Alas! Not regarding your own life, what fruit do you desire by abandoning your body in this way? Why do you not have any sorrowful expression?'

The king endured the exhaustion, wiped the blood from his face, and said, "Buddha, I have no other wish, I only wish to liberate sentient beings from samsara. I have no displeasure in giving away my body for alms. If what I say is true, may my body be restored to its original state." As soon as he spoke, his body, along with the jewel on his head, was restored to its original state. Then Brahma and Indra, and all the Buddhas and sages, requested him to be king, but he did not agree. Later, Lotus and Buddha urged him again, and together with the prince, they requested him to ascend the throne. At that time, the former Pratyekabuddhas also descended from the sky, filling all directions with light, and said, "For the benefit of others, you have done difficult deeds such as giving away your body. Now it is not appropriate to abandon your own people who are oppressed by the suffering of long separation." The human king also thought so, so he returned to his palace from the sky, and together with the prince and queen, they lived happily together as before, and ruled the country for a long time, performing extensive deeds in accordance with the Dharma. Furthermore, in the past, in the teachings of the Buddha named Lord of Assemblies, this Bhagavan was reborn as a monk named Pleasant Light, He expounded the profound Dharma of emptiness, surpassing others in appearance, discipline, samadhi, and wisdom, and was respected by all, including the prince. Other thousands of monks became jealous and harbored malice, That prince divided five thousand lives to protect, and explained the profound Dharma of emptiness without characteristics. At that time, monks with characteristics came with weapons, saying, "If we kill this monk who speaks of non-Dharma, it will become merit." The monk Pleasant Light prostrated to the Buddhas and said, "If these Dharmas are emptiness, then by the power of this truth, may these weapons become Mandarava flowers." As soon as he spoke, the weapons turned into Mandarava flowers, and the great earth also shook, and the monks holding weapons were frightened.

became wondrous and could not be approached. He offered a hundred pieces of silk and listened to the Dharma, teaching the Dharma of emptiness. Furthermore, the Tirthika monks always despised the Dharma speaker Sweet Sound and spoke unpleasant words, but he never wavered from the power of patience and taught the Dharma to many sentient beings for a long time. Moreover, this Bhagavan was once the Naga king Dha, and Avalokiteshvara was his younger brother Ne Dha; they were two brothers. In another place, when he went to where the Naga Drum Sound was, the latter became angry and emitted smoky breath, reviling him with harsh words such as "wicked one, pretending to be a practitioner," and drove him away again and again. Ne Dha became angry and began to destroy all the cities of the Naga. The great Naga Drum appeased his anger with words of good counsel, causing Ne Dha to have faith, and even now those words of good counsel still benefit many beings. These verses are clear in the verses of the Naga King Drum Sound. In other jataka tales, there are Naga Wrath and Near Wrath, which are similar to this situation. Furthermore, when the elephant became the earth-protecting six-tusked elephant, a hunter wearing crimson robes struck him with a poisoned arrow. The female elephant wanted to trample and kill the hunter, but he stopped her and donated his tusks with a respectful mind. Moreover, in the past, in a forest hermitage, he was once the leader of a herd of wild buffaloes, possessing great strength. An unruly monkey, knowing that the buffalo leader was compassionate and without anger, and clearly knowing his samadhi, became fearless and began to harm this great bodhisattva in various ways. When the buffalo was sleeping comfortably, the monkey suddenly jumped on him. Sometimes he would ride on him and run. Sometimes he would block his path when he was hungry and trying to eat. Sometimes he would stir his ears with a stick. Sometimes when he went to swim in the water, he would ride on his head and cover his eyes with both hands. Sometimes he would ride on him, raise a stick, and run, pretending to be Yama. Bodhicitta
