I, lacking the wisdom of self-awareness, Have transgressed the vows through heedless conduct, Whatever is contrary to the heart of the mothers and dakinis, I beseech the body of the ocean of mothers and sisters to forgive. Yogis who have entered the gate of the great vehicle of wondrous secret mantra, Their view is lofty, but they have not realized the meaning of Dharma-nature, Their meditation is short-lived, and they have not mingled with the yidam deity, Their conduct is meager, and they have not pleased the yidam deity, Their generosity is weak, and the knot of miserliness has not been untied, Their contemplation is weak, and they have not subdued the mind of desire, Their compassion is weak, and the fire of hatred has not been extinguished, Their wisdom is shallow, and they have not dispelled the darkness of ignorance. Have they mistaken unseen spirits for deities? Have they cast the rays of mantra upon the innocent? Have they wielded the power of the phurba upon the uncomprehending? Have they offered the yidam deity with impure substances? Have they wandered without blessing the place with empowered substances? Have they been carried to the charnel ground without blessing the body with empowered substances? Have they made mistakes in drawing the mandala, or extinguished the burning lamp? Have they not kept the outer discipline, and broken the precepts? Have they not kept the inner vows, and broken the vows? Have they not maintained the boundaries of the vows, and become one with sinners? Have they broken the word of the kind teacher? Have they disturbed the hearts of the special vajra brothers and sisters? Have they acted as a commander in a great war, and changed sides? Have they diverted water, kindled fire, and killed sentient beings? Whatever sins and obscurations there may be, In the presence of the noble ones who are manifestly present, I confess and repent, remembering the harm and regret in my mind. We are sentient beings, and we err through ignorance, We have committed faults through the illusion-like nature, and we confess afterwards. Please accept forgiveness with great compassion, Please grant purification with great wisdom. Thus, one should confess.
