May all rejoicing and the like be eliminated, and may it be completely pacified and purified. May all diseases and short lives caused by past karma and immediate circumstances, harm, non-virtue, inauspiciousness, evil, and sin be pacified and never occur again. May all obstructing spirits be freed from the thought of harming, and may they have loving hearts, and from now on, may they not have any intention to harm anyone. May we immediately have long life and no disease, abundant wealth, and all wishes fulfilled as desired, and may we be endowed with all the glory of this world and beyond. In all lifetimes, may we be endowed with a perfect body, resources, retinue, and spiritual friends to perfect the accumulation of enlightenment. May we always encounter the Dharma of the Great Vehicle and directly practice the meaning of hearing, thinking, and meditating. May we always be accompanied by and please the holy and virtuous spiritual friends who teach the true Dharma without error, and may we be free from attachment to possessions, be skilled in means, and possess unobstructed power of wisdom, so that we may easily bring all the great practices of the Bodhisattvas under our control. May we perfect the accumulation of merit and wisdom, quickly attain the great state of the Buddha, the Bhagavan, the eternal body, liberate all beings from the ocean of existence, and abide in the realm of non-abiding Nirvana. By the power of all aspirations and prayers, may we complete the assembly by reciting the "Aspiration of Good Actions" three times, and extensively making other aspirations. The third part is the inscription on the stupa that opens good fortune and generates faith in the mind: I prostrate and pray to all Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, noble Hearers, and Solitary Realizers. I prostrate to the stupa composed of the five elements, and to the relics of the holy ones! The beings of this degenerate age, forsaken by the Buddhas and their retinues, are completely held by the skillful means and compassionate hearts [of the Buddhas]. [The stupas] expound the immaculate, peaceful, and supreme path, and proclaim the benefits of the relic-essence stupa. Here, regarding the nature of the four liberations, from the catalogue of the two immaculate stupas, [there are] the benefits of building a stupa, the benefits of prostrating, offering, and circumambulating, and the benefits of liberation through seeing, hearing, remembering, and touching. This stupa's four kinds of relic catalogues, along with the conclusion of dedication and aspiration, make five [parts]. First, the benefits of building a stupa: From the Sutra of Immaculate Light, [it says]: "Great Brahmin, son or daughter of a lineage, bhikshu, bhikshuni, male or female lay follower, if anyone has a short life or many illnesses, they should repair an old stupa or build a new one. Write this secret mantra and place it inside, clean the mandala and make offerings. The benefit is that life that is exhausted will be restored and prolonged, and suffering from illness will be freed from all illnesses, and will never be born in evil destinies, sentient being hells, animal births, or the realm of Yama. If the sound of these [evil destinies] is not even heard, what need is there to mention being born there?" Also, seventy-seven stupas should be erected, according to one's ability, whether large or small. Inside each of these, a secret mantra should be placed, and offerings should be made with one-pointed mind. Thus, life that is exhausted will be restored and prolonged, and the obscurations of past karma, the sins of countless lifetimes, will be purified, and one will never be born in sentient being hells, animal realms, or all the realms of pretas. In all places of birth, one will remember past lives. Whatever one thinks of in the mind will be accomplished as desired. One will find seventy-seven hundred thousand tathagatas and generate roots of virtue. One will be freed from all illnesses and suffering. First, recite the essence of the secret mantra one thousand and eight times. After that, build a stupa the size of a fingernail, or even the size of a cubit is fine. Through the power of the secret mantra and with one-pointed concentration, that stupa will emanate the fragrance of incense, such as sandalwood, camphor, musk, and saffron. It will emanate the sweet fragrance of divine incense. Oneself and others who build stupas, and those who recite mantras, will have their wishes fulfilled. They will accumulate vast roots of virtue. They will obtain all perfect and excellent qualities. Even if there is a cause for a short life, it will become long. When the time of death comes, one will see ninety-nine billion trillion billion Buddhas, and those Tathagatas will remember you. In the next life, one will be born in a pure Buddha-field and will receive a prophecy. There, one will live for billions of trillions of years, and will obtain the remembrance of past lives, the divine eye, and pure divine ears, as well as knowing the minds of others, knowing death and birth, the body will emit the fragrance of sandalwood, and the mouth will emit the fragrance of lotus flowers. Having obtained the unsurpassed path of enlightenment, one will also attain the irreversible stage. As it says in the "Sutra of the Immaculate Crown Pinnacle": Having respectfully made offerings to this essence of the Immaculate Crown Pinnacle, which is the light that enters from all directions, if one builds a stupa, even if life is exhausted, life will be prolonged and one will live a long life. If one dies, one will abandon the body like a snake shedding its skin and be born in the blissful realm of the world. One will not experience the suffering of death. Hereafter, one will never experience the feeling of death. Hereafter, one will never go and be born in the hells, as an animal, in the realm of Yama, or in the lower realms. Did you circumambulate the stupa? Did you prostrate? Did you join your palms? Did you offer flowers? Did you offer perfume and incense? Did you offer bells, banners, and umbrellas? If you offered these, it is equal to the merit of offering to ninety-nine thousand Tathagata stupas. You will gain the glory, power, and vast strength of completely perfecting the roots of virtue. Furthermore, any son or daughter of good family who circumambulates, prostrates to, or makes offerings to that stupa will, through the blessings of the Tathagata, never turn back from the path of unsurpassed enlightenment. Their past obscurations will also be purified. From the benefits of circumambulating a stupa, by circumambulating a stupa, one will become a Tathagata in the world, adorned with various marks, and will obtain a golden body. And so on, endlessly. Third, the benefits of liberation through seeing, hearing, remembering, and touching. From the Stainless Light Sutra: Even birds and wild animals, etc., those who are touched by the shadow of that stupa will never be born in the lower realms such as animals. Even those who possess the five heinous sins, if they touch that stupa or are touched by its shadow, will attain unsurpassed perfect enlightenment and abide in the irreversible stage. Furthermore, if someone dreams of such a stupa, or sees it from afar, or hears the sound of its bell, or hears of the construction of a stupa, all their sins and obscurations, including the five heinous sins, will be purified, and they will always be protected and remembered by the Tathagatas. They will attain the path of perfect enlightenment. Moreover, if others see the stupa or hear the sound of its bell, all karmic obscurations and sins will be purified, and even those who have committed the five heinous sins will be born in Sukhavati after death. If someone hears the name of the stupa, they will attain the path of unsurpassed enlightenment after death.
