Thus, our teacher, the Buddha, the Bhagavan Shakyamuni, although showing the manner of passing into nirvana in this Jambudvipa due to the influence of those to be tamed, still benefits beings and abides in other realms with various forms of the Tathagata. This is due to the great compassion of the Tathagata and the special aspirations of the past. We belong to those who are taken as disciples in the Ngari region, and we are shown only a small portion of the received grace. In order to protect many beings such as so-and-so, we invite you as protector, refuge, and ally. If you have arrived at the mandala of the palace where the offering assembly is arranged, please come and bless us with a great gathering. The Bodhisattva Mahasattva, the noble Manjushri, and the sons of the Buddhas, such as Kyabdro and Vajrapani, and all the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas who gathered at the time when the Sutra on the Extensive Differences of the Past Aspirations of the Seven Tathagatas was taught, blessed the meaning of the Sutra, and resolved to accomplish the teachings of the Tathagata, also, in order to protect many beings such as so-and-so, we invite you as protector, refuge, and ally. In the past, the Tathagatas, in a great assembly, entrusted with commands and each promised with the true words of the gods to fulfill their wishes, protecting the sacred Dharma and the fourfold assembly. In particular, this Sutra on the Extensive Differences of the Past Aspirations of the Seven Tathagatas is especially taken as a symbol by the lord of the gods, Indra, Brahma, the great king Dhritarashtra, Virudhaka, Virupaksha, Vaishravana, and all the noble Dharma protectors. 降临并大集会，如何加持？ 往昔如来集会之前，七如来往昔愿力殊胜之经部持诵及供养等之有情，以手印受持并承诺守护。 夜叉之主大吉惧，夜叉之主大金刚，夜叉之主大宝持，夜叉之主大星宿持，夜叉之主大风，夜叉之主大处所，夜叉之主大自在持，夜叉之主大饮持，夜叉之主大语持，夜叉之主大思持，夜叉之主大动持，夜叉之主大圆满。 诸夜叉之主，亦从往昔之善誓愿中提起，为救护某某等众多有情，迎请为怙主救护及助伴，祈请降临于供养会合之宫殿坛城中，并大集会而加持。 此时读诵迎请之偈颂。 迎请之后，各自从其刹土以神通降临于虚空。 无量宫殿中央，八大狮子宝座上，八如来安住。 法经函亦安住。 中间之布上，菩萨从四大洲而来。 或者菩萨之眷属无量安住之座席陈设。 其前方，菩萨文殊、救脱、金刚手三尊集会，忆念往昔誓愿，行事业而安住作此观想。 右侧陈设梵天与帝释天之座席。 第三，左侧陈设十二夜叉之主之座席。 四门上，四大天王如各自誓言般成办而安住作此观想。 供品与坛城如前真实陈设。

How do you bless by descending and holding a great assembly? In the past, before the assembly of the Tathagatas, those sentient beings who uphold and make offerings to the Sutra that elaborates on the special aspirations of the seven Tathagatas, you pledged to protect them by holding them as emblems. The great Yaksha chief Jijik, the great Yaksha chief Vajra, the great Yaksha chief Jewel Holder, the great Yaksha chief Star Holder, the great Yaksha chief Wind, the great Yaksha chief Abode, the great Yaksha chief Empowerment Holder, the great Yaksha chief Drink Holder, the great Yaksha chief Speech Holder, the great Yaksha chief Thought Holder, the great Yaksha chief Motion Holder, and the great Yaksha chief Accomplisher. All the great Yaksha chiefs, recalling their good vows from the past, for the sake of saving many beings such as so-and-so, we invite you as protectors and allies. Please descend and hold a great assembly in this mandala of the palace where offerings are gathered, and bless us. At this time, recite the verses of invitation. After the invitation, from their respective realms, they descend through the sky by means of miraculous power. In the center of the immeasurable palace, on eight great lion thrones, the eight Tathagatas reside. The Dharma scripture is also present. On the cloth in between, Bodhisattvas come from the four continents. Or, prepare seats where countless retinues of Bodhisattvas reside. In front of them, visualize the three Bodhisattvas Manjushri, Savior, and Vajrapani gathering, remembering their past vows, performing their activities, and residing. On the right side, arrange the seats of Brahma and Indra. Thirdly, on the left side, arrange the seats of the twelve great Yaksha chiefs. At the four gates, visualize the four great kings fulfilling their vows and residing. The offerings and mandala are arranged as before, truthfully.

I offer and take refuge. I prostrate to the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyaksambuddha, Jeweled Moon and Lotus Adorned, Wise, Glorious, King of Melodious Sound, surrounded by many assemblies of Bodhisattvas. I prostrate to the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyaksambuddha, Excellent Gold, Immaculate Jewel Light, Accomplished Ascetic Practice, surrounded by billions, trillions, hundreds of thousands, and many more Bodhisattvas. I offer and take refuge. I prostrate to the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyaksambuddha, Supreme, Auspicious, Free from Sorrow, together with an immeasurable retinue of Bodhisattvas. I offer and take refuge. I prostrate to the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyaksambuddha, Dharma Proclaiming Ocean's Sound, surrounded by many retinues of Bodhisattvas. I offer and take refuge. I prostrate to the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyaksambuddha, Manifestly Knowing through Playing with the Wisdom of the Supreme Dharma Ocean, surrounded by countless Bodhisattvas. I offer and take refuge. To all those noble assemblies, I offer bathing water, scented oils, flowers, incense, lamps, food, music, cymbals, parasols, banners, and whatever offerings are actually available. And I offer all the excellent and abundant resources of happiness, the sacred substances of gods and humans that are unowned in the ten directions, and the beautiful clouds of offerings created by the power of mantras and knowledge, and by the strength of faith. I completely fill the entire expanse of space with the ocean of all things arising from aspirations to practice, and I offer and worship them. I, named so-and-so, confess all sins and non-virtuous actions committed in all lifetimes from beginningless samsara, in short, all actions that should not have been done were done, and actions that should have been done were not done. I rejoice in all the merit of the Buddhas of the three times and all the virtuous roots of ordinary beings. I urge all the Victorious Ones of the ten directions to turn the unsurpassed wheel of Dharma. I request all the lights of the world who intend to show the way to pass into nirvana not to pass into nirvana, but to perform the benefit of the world and remain for a long time. Today, I beseech the great assembly of the Bhagavan to consider. O Bhagavan, endowed with great compassion, when in the future final five hundred years, the false semblance of the sacred Dharma arises, please hold dear all sentient beings who are obscured by various karmic obscurations, afflicted by various diseases, and tormented by various sorrows and sufferings. For the sake of the benefit and happiness of gods and humans, remember the past Bhagavan, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Enlightened One.

How the skillful means of the seven perfect Buddhas and the vast and extraordinary aspirations of the past were planted, and how they were blessed, and how this matter is now proclaimed and blessed by our teacher, the Buddha, the Bhagavan, the glorious Shakyamuni, and how the great Bodhisattvas such as the noble Manjushri, Kyabdro, and Vajrapani, in order to truly accomplish the teachings of those Bhagavans and to fully accomplish their vast intentions and actions, perform the activities of accomplishing the meaning of the sutras, and are approved and accepted by the noble ones, and how Brahma, Indra, the four great kings, the twelve great Yaksha generals, and all the great virtuous laymen and laywomen who protect the holy Dharma are gathered, and how they promise to protect and save the sutras and the sentient beings who hold the sutras, etc., as the noble ones of the past blessed and proclaimed, as it appears in the sutras, the mandala of the palace where the Bhagavan Tathagata and his retinue are invited. Offering assemblies are arranged with whatever wealth is available, and offerings are made by reciting the names in front of the assembled guests. If blessings are received, please grant that we, so-and-so, etc., may immediately receive all the blessings of the benefits as proclaimed, just as the assembled guests blessed and proclaimed in the past. After that, offerings are made to the noble ones one by one, and prayers are offered. Offering and praying by reciting the name of the Tathagata Well-Proclaimed Glorious King.
