After thorough investigation, they were said to be practitioners. Later, when Dharma Lord was residing in Jangda Ri, some patrons, including a woman named Mo Karlek and three sons of shepherds, arrived, had their hair cut, names changed, received ordination, requested Dharma, and were introduced to the nature of mind. In particular, they received the profound Dharma of Mahamudra, the meditation on emptiness, stainless luminosity, and they all experienced uninterrupted bliss. By practicing only these, they gained stability in the alaya-jnana, and some realized men and women emerged, wandering freely in the mountains. The stone teachings of Khara Gomchung are: ༈ Namo Guru. Sanskrit Romanization: Namo Guru, Literal Chinese meaning: Homage to the Guru) When the great virtuous friend Putowa and Khara Gomchung were residing in Drakgyap Yama, a monastery in Angren, Geshe Putowa thought to himself, "This Khara Gomchung doesn't have much of the key points of meditation, he's just a foolish practitioner, but his perseverance in meditation is great. Therefore, if he asks me for Dharma, perhaps he can become a true practitioner," so he thought. Once, when they met at an assembly, Putowa said, "You have great perseverance in meditation, how is your progression of experience and realization?" Khara Gomchung said, "I have meditated on the difficulty of obtaining leisure and endowment and the impermanence of death, therefore I understand that I have turned my mind away from this life. I have contemplated the law of karma and the faults of samsara, therefore I understand that I have turned my mind away from the happiness of existence and desirable objects. I have meditated on the fact that there is no happiness no matter where one is born, therefore I understand that I have turned my mind away from the three realms of samsara. I have meditated on loving-kindness, compassion, and the mind of bodhichitta, therefore I understand that I have turned my mind away from seeking my own peace. I have meditated on the fact that all dharmas are without inherent existence, therefore I understand that I have turned my mind away from all grasping and apprehended objects." Putowa thought to himself, "He is not a small practitioner, but a great practitioner," and he confessed his previous teasing. He said, "Come tomorrow to discuss the Dharma, please write down your experiences and realizations that you have meditated on." The next day, Geshe Potowa himself went to visit, but Khara Gomchung was in retreat. He had built four stone pillars in four directions. On the eastern stone pillar, it was written: ༈ For me, with little experience, there are many adverse conditions and harms. If stability is attained, adverse conditions will appear as helpers. Like a forest fire and

Like a flame. Living alone is my vow. On the southern threshold: The Lord of Death, the demon, will not stay, but will come again and again. There is not even one way to escape from this. Now, because of sleep and distraction, there is no recollection. What kind of time will come upon me? On the western threshold: However much one toils for food and clothing in this life, it is in vain. Supreme Bodhi cannot be sought later. Without attachment to all, enemies, friends, near and far. One should practice Bodhi for the sake of the future. On the northern threshold: Names and words are endless. Therefore, please receive the Victor's intention. The Guru's seat is a solitary sacred place. Live alone like a rhinoceros. On the upper door threshold: Even if one does not farm or accumulate possessions. Do yogis freeze or starve to death? Have you seen or heard? Who knows? Strive to practice the essence yoga. On the lower door threshold: Those who crave fame and fortune, are discontented, and self-willed. It is best not to have attendants who increase defilements. My attendants are wisdom and diligence. There is no weariness in accomplishing desired goals. Homage to the Guru). May there be auspiciousness, well-being, and perfect abundance! This Dharma song, which is timely now, was sung by the incomparable supreme being Samten Pal, when, having heard the fame and reputation of Gyadrak Tulku Yeshe Zhonnu, he went with Geshe Zhonrin to meet him in Lampa. The fame of the Dharma Lord spread far. With fervent longing of devotion. With admiration, with Geshe Zhonrin. Together they went to meet in Lampa. Just as they arrived at the pass of Lampa. A supreme fragrance, never before felt. He asked what that special fragrance was. He said it must be the smell of apples. Then, as they went up. Just as before, he said. It is the fragrance of the Guru's discipline. I said I didn't feel anything. You said that because your perception is pure. Then, seeing the sleeping quarters. Faith arose, and admiration arose. Tears flowed with a devoted heart. In an instant. The sound of a white conch shell was heard in the distance. A great faith and joy arose. Purity arose in all the assembly. Walking stick

Having placed aside the tin water pot and other items and offerings, I presented gifts with a pure mind. In that very instant, He came carrying thick incense smoke, With a radiance never seen before, With fame pervading the three thousand worlds, And a billowing mist of blessings. I involuntarily arose with devotion and reverence, And uttered prayers without shame. When that blessed lama Sat upon the cushion, I offered gifts with devotion and respect, And inquired about his well-being with faith and reverence. He asked if I was well and if my mind was pleased. Then, even when sitting in the row, The supreme jewel of the power of blessings, Just by appearing, tears welled up. To sentient beings as lowly as myself, I prayed for him to hold us with compassion. From then on, to the stream of the nectar of blessings of the precious one, I drank with single-pointed longing. To the kind father, Yogya Drakpa, I offer with gratitude, Rinpoche! I pray for the auspicious connection of the perfection of both aims. Thus he spoke.
