It is necessary to turn the Vidyadharas of the Kangs from the views of the heretics. To do this, if you do not show the logicians who refute with reason, you will not be able to destroy the clinging to views. Therefore, for the time being, do not make the tenets of the outsiders the object of the root downfall. If you do that, the thought will arise that "our view is correct." Moreover, in the future, it will be necessary to specifically prevent the tenets of the barbarians, because there is such a prophecy. For the time being, it is taught out of necessity, that is, in order to tame the Vidyadharas, in both the root and abbreviated tantras, the word ཨེ་ཝཾ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari: एवं, Romanized Sanskrit: evaṃ, literal Chinese meaning: thus) of meaning is not spoken of the word ཨེ་ཝཾ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari: एवं, Romanized Sanskrit: evaṃ, literal Chinese meaning: thus). In order to prevent outsiders from taking it with physical gestures, the establishment of calculations is not done in the abbreviated tantra. In order to make the Vidyadharas proud, the manner in which the weapon wheels and the Rigden destroy the barbarians is explained, and many extensive lines are explained. Later, when one is separated from views and knows the place of wisdom, one will naturally know all the tenets equally, and in the end there will be no place of clinging. The thought is: only because it is caused by hatred, jealousy, and wrong views, and by the thought of clinging to the two places of debate. The main thing is: with hatred in the mind, one completely slanders and insults with the mouth. The time is: at the very time when a round of degrading verbal actions is completed. The way to fall into downfall is: in general, it is the same. From the point of view of the object, the secret mantra and the general Mahayana, the Hinayana and the heretics, the former is heavier than the former, and the latter is the lightest. If one knowingly disregards the Buddha's teachings, this is the second root downfall. In the place of doubt as to whether the Dharma is correct or not, if there is no immaculate direct perception of the Dharma eye, one clings to what is not Dharma and makes a judgment only by relying on the arrogance of the direct perception of concepts such as terms and the arrogance of people looking up to one, this is what is meant here. The situations in which there is no downfall are: eliminating wrong views by obtaining the Dharma eye; turning away from places that will not become meaningless by knowing the faculties of the trainees and the time of taming; and seeing that if the tenets of the heretics flourish, they will destroy Buddhism, so there is no downfall in protecting the teachings with reason, etc. Therefore, Nagarjuna and his son and Dignāga.

Jechung and other countless masters of yoga, with reason dispelled wrong views, and made the correct view spread like the sun in the sky. All their refutations and affirmations, regarding the path and non-path, what is reasonable and unreasonable, etc., are merely like the words of an echo in a valley or the speech of a magical being, done according to what needs to be tamed. They do not cling to their own tenets and attack others out of hatred for their tenets. Because when establishing one's own system, sounds and words are merely under the control of the intention to express, and are themselves empty of meaning and what is expressed. From the perspective of cognition, even a single name cannot express any object. Moreover, regarding the meaning of what is seen, yogis, with their differences in intelligence, explain how each higher level negates the previous ones. In the end, they do not establish any fixed extreme of their own system of clinging. Therefore, Lord Drikungpa said, "All vehicles are true in their own place." Because each has its own necessity and reason in its own context, there is nothing to be disparaged in that respect. But if measured from a higher level, it will collapse and cannot be trusted, so there is nothing to cling to either. Knowing this key point, one should, as he said, view all views equally, without clinging or abandoning. And if there is a special need for debate about the Dharma, it should be done by learned and impartial holy beings according to the nature of Dharma, and not by biased, one-eyed mantra practitioners with attachment. Regarding the seventh root downfall, the essence is: the fault of proclaiming the secret of mantra to the immature is serious. As it is said: "Proclaiming secrets to immature beings is the seventh downfall." And, "Even mountain gods should not give secrets to immature people." The reason is: revealing secrets to an unsuitable vessel will cause them to disbelieve in the Dharma or yogis and slander them, which will cause them to fall into the lower realms, thus harming them. Moreover, one will not have protected that being and will abandon them. At the time of empowerment, it is also said: "You should not speak of this in front of those who have not seen this mandala." And it says, "If this principle is spoken, it will immediately be cut off and depart." Because this contradicts the oath of secrecy. Therefore, siddhis will not be accomplished, and fear will arise in this life and the next.
