It is together with adventitious stains. In this regard, the reality of body and mind, the Tathagatagarbha, is the basis of purification. Not understanding adventitious stains, combining wrong ideas, entering the wrong path, the four states, etc., are what is to be purified. The stages of the path, the yoga of the generation stage and the completion stage, are the means of purification. The three stages of the result are the purified result. The second basis is the five empowerments, the essence of which is to ripen the unripe continuum, the definition of which is to wash away the stains of the three doors (body, speech, and mind) and to bestow fortune, the divisions of which are the four empowerments: vase empowerment, secret empowerment, wisdom empowerment, and word empowerment. The order of the rituals will appear below, and the necessity is that one who is not ripened by empowerment cannot practice the path, so it is to empower one to practice the path. The Guhyagarbha Tantra says: "If the empowerment is given with perfect generosity, one will be empowered in birth after birth. In seven of those births, one will achieve even without practice." Thus, empowerment is the path in terms of realizing the reality of one's own body and mind, and it is the basis or activity of the two stages of the path, the foundation of the path, just as a seed is for desiring crops, it is the beginning of entering the two stages, and it is indispensable, so explaining it is divided into three points: by whom is the empowerment given, i.e., the characteristics of the Vajra Master; to whom is the empowerment given, i.e., the characteristics of the disciple; and how is the empowerment given. The first point is, the tantra says: "A yogi who is equal to the deity, who is free from his own desires, who has seen the ultimate, who has gone beyond mantra." And the Ratnavali says: "Vajra, bell, and wisdom, deity, mandala, and fire offering, mantra, powder, torma, and the ten knowledges of empowerment." These are the characteristics. The second is: one who speaks softly and sweetly, who has a mind of love and compassion, who is diligent in listening, thinking, etc., who respects the lama, who is not afraid of profound secrets and has faith, who is generous, and who is skilled in the scriptures is fortunate. The third is divided into four: the preliminary, the order of recitation; the ground ritual; abiding in preparation; the main part.

In order to request the deity to bestow blessings, one should engage in retreat until a sign is seen or for seven days, etc. As it says in the Sutra Collection: Or, if one recites in this way, if the appearance of the deity is clear, or if good omens appear, this also counts as drawing a mandala. The second part has five points: examining the ground, requesting, purifying, protecting and holding, and dispelling obstacles. The first point is: As it is said: In gardens and uninhabited places, and in the homes of Bodhisattvas, or inside mandala halls, a sacred mandala should be built. Like this, draw the mandala in these places. In old places, there is no need to examine the ground, so this method is not written here. If needed, it can be learned from other texts. The second point is: According to the sadhana, in one's own heart, on top of the sun disc, from the white Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) like moonlight, white rays of light emanate, filling the entire body, and all sins and obscurations are completely purified, becoming emptiness. By uttering the word Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) in the mouth, visualize oneself as the Karma Heruka, with one face and two arms, on top of the moon above the crown of the head, there is a white Oṃ (藏文:ༀ,梵文天城体:ओ,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡). In the throat, on top of an eight-petaled lotus, there is a red Āḥ (藏文:ཨཱཿ,梵文天城体:आ,梵文罗马拟音:āḥ,汉语字面意思:阿). In the heart, on top of the sun disc, there is a blue Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽). Bless the inner offering and partake of it, and hold the vajra and bell. Arrange a torma and bless it as in the preliminaries. Offer it three times with Namaḥ Sarva Tathāgatebhyaḥ, etc. Accompanied by the vajra and bell. Whether it is the gods and nāgas here, or yakshas, rakshasas, or any other beings, if I request this land, please grant it for the sake of the mandala. Request like this three times, visualize that they grant their consent, and then take the torma to a clean place. Smear the ground for the mandala with five kinds of cow dung in a circular shape, and make a dot in the center with fragrant water. In front of the arrangement of yellow flowers, offer the torma, two waters, and five offerings, arranged clockwise. With the right hand making the earth-touching mudra, strike the ground three times, and visualize the earth goddess arising from the syllable Vaṃ (藏文:པཾ,梵文天城体:वं,梵文罗马拟音:vaṃ,汉语字面意思:邦), emerging from the earth up to her navel, her body the color of pure gold, her right hand in the granting mudra, and her left hand holding a jeweled vase, adorned with all kinds of jewels, asking what I need to do. Accompanied by the sound of the bell. Oṃ (藏文:ༀ,梵文天城体:ओ,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡) come here
