Therefore, those who wish to receive empowerment in the mandala of Bhagavan Hevajra must first know the condensed meaning of this king of tantras. There are two traditions: the commentary tradition and the oral instruction tradition. Here, the glorious Jnanasiddhi says: the reality of the basis of things, the stages of the path, and the stages of the arising of the fruit, these three. However, various Tibetan scholars have different interpretations. According to the view of the glorious Self-Arisen All-Knowing One: there are two bases: the thing itself and the empowerment as the basis of the path. There are two things. The reality of the body-thing, the Vajra body, the three kayas, and the nature of skillful means and wisdom, the essence of channels, winds, and bodhicitta. The reality of the mind-thing, as the tantra says: sentient beings are themselves Buddhas, but they are obscured by adventitious stains. If those are cleared away, then they are Buddhas. As it is said, the nature of mind, the quiescence of all elaborations, the wisdom that is non-dual with the minds of all Buddhas, the Tathagatagarbha.
