Without interruption, possessing mastery over the feet of miraculous power, knowing the equality of samsara and nirvana, possessing the complete and undefiled bliss, being the lord of all qualities and virtues—with seven reasons, the activities of the Form Body for the benefit of others are constant and uninterrupted. Subduing the Mara of death, being without the nature of compounded phenomena, becoming the refuge and protector of worldly beings—with three reasons, the Dharma Body is permanent because it is unchanging. In short, with ten reasons, these three bodies of the Thus-Gone One are permanent. Second, the detailed explanation has two parts: explaining the seven reasons for the Form Body's permanence and the three reasons for the Dharma Body's permanence. The first is: "Having given up body, life, and enjoyments, for the sake of upholding the sacred Dharma; for the benefit of all sentient beings; for the sake of fulfilling the initial vow; the Buddha himself is pure, and because pure great compassion is thoroughly infused; to demonstrate the feet of miraculous power, therefore he abides in conduct; with wisdom, he is liberated from grasping at samsara and nirvana; always in inconceivable samadhi, because he possesses complete bliss; when acting in the world, because he is not stained by worldly dharmas." Thus it is said. Among these, there are four reasons why the Form Body of the Buddha abides in samsara for the benefit of others: Having given up body, life, and enjoyments in countless eons, for the sake of upholding the sacred Dharma gathered by the two accumulations. Although possessing limitless causes, is there no need? No, it is necessary to abide constantly for the benefit of others. For the benefit of all sentient beings, when first generating the mind of enlightenment, to fulfill the vow to liberate all those to be tamed from samsara, because there is no end to those to be tamed. Although there is a need, is there no intention? No, there is the intention to benefit others. The Buddha himself is pure from karma and afflictions, and wisdom is free from the two obscurations, in order to infuse great compassion. Although there is the intention to benefit others, does the span of life not last? No, he is able to abide constantly for the benefit of others, because he possesses the power of the feet of miraculous power, the manifestation of the Form Body is the feet of miraculous power.

Because of this, one can act as long as samsara exists. There are three reasons for not abandoning the world: Although there is a situation of constantly abiding for the benefit of others, if there is a distinction between acceptance and rejection of samsara and nirvana, wouldn't one abandon samsara? Because there is no acceptance or rejection of samsara and nirvana, but rather knowing things as they are, one is liberated from grasping samsara and nirvana as dualistic opposites. If one dwells in samsara, will one be harmed by the suffering of samsara? No, because one constantly possesses the perfect bliss of inconceivable and infinite samadhi. Even if one is not harmed by suffering, will one be tainted by its faults? It is impossible to be tainted by the faults of samsara, because when engaging in benefiting others in the world, one is not tainted by worldly karma, afflictions, suffering, etc. The second is: Having attained the state of deathless peace, because there is no wandering of the Lord of Death. Because it is the unconditioned nature, the Buddha has been completely pacified from the beginning. Because it is always appropriate as refuge, etc., for those who are helpless. It is said that there are three reasons why the Dharmakaya of the Buddha is constant and unchanging: Because there is no migration of death, therefore having attained the state of peace, the Dharmakaya, there is no wandering of the Lord of Death; because the Dharmakaya of the Buddha is of an unconditioned nature, therefore from the beginning it is completely pacified from birth and death, etc.; because it is the ultimate refuge, protector, and helper, etc., for limitless beings who are helpless. The third is: The first seven reasons are the constancy of the Rupakaya. The latter three show the constancy of the Dharmakaya. It is said that because of limitless reasons, etc., the first seven reasons are that the Rupakaya is constantly and continuously for the benefit of others. Because of subduing the Lord of Death, etc., the latter three reasons show that the Dharmakaya of the Buddha is unchanging and constant.
