He also composed works such as the "Ten Natures of Suchness." Later, Lord Marpa heard these teachings and said, "The ultimate essence of the Great Vehicle, is to be without extremes, not focusing on the mind, and to introduce the Great Seal of Dharma." etc. Gampopa said, "The root text of our Great Seal is the treatise 'Ornament of the Great Vehicle Sutras' composed by Lord Maitreya." He also clarified this in his own works such as "The Jewel Ornament of Liberation." Following this, the glorious Phagmo Drupa and his sons, the Second Buddha Rangjung Dorje, and other masters of the ten bhumis who directly saw the meaning of the essence, all followed it unanimously. Kyobpa Jigten Sumgon also, starting from this very meaning of the essence, turned the extraordinary wheel of Dharma. His subsequent incarnation, Kunkhyen Dolpopa Sangye, also compiled the fourth collection of definitive meaning essence teachings. Zilong Panchen, Jetsun Taranatha, Kunkhyen Tenpai Nyima, and others also accepted this view in slightly different ways, but ultimately they all converge on the same key point of view. Furthermore, Pandit Vajrapani, the direct disciple of Maitripa, widely taught the root and commentary of the "Ten Natures of Suchness" in Tibet, which are also the Great Seal teachings that explain this meaning. Dampa Sangye, the direct disciple of Maitripa, also named the Great Seal Dharma, which is essentially Tara and in accordance with mantra, as "The Holy Dharma Pacifier of Suffering," and taught it in Tibet at different times, its meaning being the same as the former. In short, all the teachings and instructions transmitted from Maitri Gupta only differ in their verbal expressions, but their meaning converges into one. Thus, the essence of their view, the Tathagatagarbha, is the very clear light nature of the mind. When it exists in the continuum of sentient beings, it is called "gotra" (lineage or seed) and is said to possess the "Buddha-nature." Just as the Naga King ascends from the depths of the ocean to the heavens, it also symbolizes the upward striving in the practice of the path and the fruit. When it becomes Buddha, it is called Dharmakaya, and the essence is manifested.

It is like this: just as the manifestation of Brahma descends to the earth, the Dharma of Samsara is also covered. At these times, apart from the difference between the sudden impurity and purity, in terms of the essence of the Dharmata of the beings' realms and Dharmakaya, from the perspective of no good or bad and no change, Suchness is the same. This is shown by the example of the Bhagavan residing on the earth, pervading with the appearance of the three realms' bodies. If we differentiate them slightly, there are two types of lineages: the naturally abiding lineage and the expanding lineage. The former is like a treasure in a poor person's house, abiding in the continuum of sentient beings as an essence from beginningless time; the latter is like planting and cultivating a new fruit-bearing tree on the basis of the lineage's potential, correctly taking the virtues of hearing, etc., on the path of learning, thereby increasing the qualities. The former is the cause of attaining the Svabhavikakaya, and the latter is the cause of attaining the Sambhogakaya and Nirmanakaya. Kunchen Rangjung Dorje believes that the basis or cause of the expanding lineage exists. The Dharmakaya also has two types: the actual Dharmakaya and the similar cause that realizes it. The former is the Dharmakaya characterized by the two purities, and the latter is the scriptures that show the profound ultimate truth and various aspects of the conventional truth. Suchness is taught in the general scriptures as two types: the ultimate Suchness and the conventional Suchness. In general, the three essences are transformed into six types through the distinction between the conventional and the ultimate, which is the view of Go Lotsawa Chenpo. According to the view of this text, there is no difference in Suchness, because the similar lineage exists continuously from sentient beings to the Buddha, which is the Dharmata or nature of the mind itself. As it is said, 'The nature of the mind is luminosity, like the sky, it is immutable.' And, 'How it was before, so it is afterwards, the Dharmata without change.' It is taught with various names and examples. As it is said in the Sutra: Prajnaparamita, ultimate truth, the edge of reality, the nature of reality, immutable perfection, Dharmata, mind-nature, emptiness, and so on. In the Mantrayana: the primordial protector, co-emergent wisdom, great bindu, self-luminous nature, Mahamudra, and so on, various names.
