Revolving greatly in samsara, subduing all demons and their retinues. Whatever this aspiration of excellent conduct may be, those who hold, teach, or recite it, the Buddha knows its ripening. Do not doubt the supreme Bodhi! Just as Manjushri knows and is brave, so too is Samantabhadra. I will train in the ways of all of them, and dedicate all these virtues. By whatever dedication all the Buddhas who have gone to the three times have praised as supreme, May I also dedicate all these roots of virtue for the sake of excellent conduct. When I come to the time of death, May all obscurations be completely removed, And having directly seen the immeasurable light, May I go to that pure land of Sukhavati. Having gone there, may all these aspirations Be completely and entirely manifested. May I completely fulfill all of them, And benefit sentient beings as long as the world exists. In that excellent and joyful mandala of the Victorious Ones, Born from an exceedingly beautiful lotus, Having been directly prophesied by the Victorious One, Amitabha, May I also obtain that prophecy there. Having obtained the prophecy there, With hundreds of millions of emanations, By the power of intelligence, in all ten directions, May I do much benefit for sentient beings. By planting the aspiration of excellent conduct, Whatever small amount of virtue I have accumulated, By that, may the aspirations and virtues of beings Be completely attained in a single instant. By the complete dedication of excellent conduct, By whatever infinite and supreme merit is obtained, May all beings who are drowning in the river of suffering Quickly attain the state of immeasurable light. These supreme kings of aspirations, Benefit all limitless beings, Accomplishing the teachings adorned by Samantabhadra, May all the realms of the lower realms be emptied. The Indian Abbot Jinamitra, Surendrabodhi, and the great translator Bande Yeshede and others translated, edited, and finalized it. The Aspiration of Maitreya, which arose from the forty-first chapter of the Ratnakuta Sutra, asked by Maitreya: I prostrate to all the Buddhas! To the sages with divine eyes, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas, and also to the Shravakas.

I prostrate! That which averts all evil destinies, And excellently shows the path to higher realms, And leads beings away from aging and death, To the mind of enlightenment I prostrate. Since I am under the power of my mind, Whatever sins I have committed, In the presence of the Buddhas, I will confess them. Whatever collection of merit Has been created from my three kinds [of actions], May it be the seed of my omniscience, May my enlightenment never be exhausted. In all the realms of the ten directions, Whatever offerings to the Buddhas have occurred, And whatever the Buddhas have rejoiced in with their wisdom, In that I rejoice. I confess all sins, I rejoice in all merit, I prostrate to all the Buddhas, May I attain the supreme wisdom. In all the directions of the ten directions, Those bodhisattvas who abide on the ten grounds, I urge them to attain The supreme enlightenment. Having become enlightened in supreme enlightenment, And having subdued the maras together with their hosts, For the sake of benefiting all living beings, May you turn the wheel of Dharma. May the sound of the great Dharma drum Liberate suffering sentient beings. For countless millions of aeons, May you teach the Dharma and remain. I have sunk into the mire of desire, And am tightly bound by the thread of craving, I am bound by all bonds, I beseech the supreme two-footed ones to look upon me. The Buddhas do not despise Those who have been defiled by their minds, They possess loving kindness for all sentient beings, May they liberate me from the ocean of existence. Whatever perfect Buddhas are abiding, And those who have passed away and have not yet come, I will follow in their footsteps, And practice the practice of enlightenment. Having perfected the six perfections, May I liberate the sentient beings of the six realms. Having manifested the six clairvoyances, May I touch the unsurpassed enlightenment. Unborn and unceasing, Natureless and placeless, Without discriminating consciousness and without entities, May I realize the Dharma of emptiness. Like the great Buddha and sage, Without sentient beings and without life, Without persons and without nourishment, May I realize the Dharma of no-self. Without dwelling on all things That are grasped as self and as belonging to self, For the sake of benefiting all sentient beings, May I give without stinginess. Since things do not exist as things,
