That has been briefly explained above. The discipline of meditative concentration is also present in the continuums of non-Buddhists (outsiders), so it must be understood that it is not entirely included within the three trainings. Secondly, in the commentary on the Treasury of Knowledge, in the commentary on "Those differences are not contradictory," it is explicitly mentioned that the three disciplines of lay practitioners, novices, and fully ordained monks are called the three disciplines. This is a classification of the seven individual liberation vows into three disciplines. Thirdly, in the root text of the Pratimoksha Sutra, it says: "The discipline of the body is good, the discipline of speech is good, the discipline of mind is good, in all ways discipline is good." Here, the term for the three disciplines of body, speech, and mind is mentioned. To this, the Vaibhashikas say that discipline is only the four or seven abstentions of body and speech, so the discipline of mind is called mindfulness and awareness. However, those who consider discipline to be the mind of abstention also consider the discipline of body and speech to be the mind of abstention. Fourthly, both the Mahayana sutras and tantras agree that the bodhisattva's training has three aspects: abstaining from misdeeds, accumulating virtuous dharmas, and the discipline of benefiting sentient beings. This is called the three trainings of discipline. Here, the "discipline" and "vow" are synonymous. The first chapter of the Ratnakuta Sutra explains these three disciplines in detail, and the chapter is also called "The Chapter Showing the Three Vows," which also shows this. All tantric practices are included in these three disciplines, because the vows of each of the five families must be included in the general vows of the five families, and all practices are inseparable from the three aspects of abandoning unfavorable conditions, accumulating virtuous qualities, and benefiting others. Fifthly, in the Vajrasekhara Sutra, it says: "Killing, stealing, and sexual misconduct, lying and alcohol are all abandoned, the householder's discipline is well established, the king of secret mantras is well practiced. If they become renunciates, then they are fully endowed with the three disciplines, the Pratimoksha, the Bodhicitta, is the nature of the vidyadhara." Thus, there are the three disciplines of Pratimoksha, Bodhicitta, and secret mantra. If the secret mantra discipline is present in the continuum, then one must take the three disciplines in sequence or the ritual of empowerment.

Or, it can be taken all at once from the (three vows), which refers to the three vows that are necessarily possessed. Therefore, if it is said that "those who have renounced," it means that the basis abides in the vows of a householder, or even if they have renounced. When practicing the King of Secrets, one must possess the three vows. This is the meaning (of the sentence), not that the body of a householder does not possess the three vows, but when he renounces, he possesses the three vows. Sixth, Jetsun Tsemoche said in the Sambhuta Tantra: "Like the Buddhas of the three times," from here it explains the vow of the Bodhicitta of the Paramitas; "With all kinds of vows," from here it explains the vow of the generation stage; "The differences of vows should also be explained," from here it explains the three vows of the completion stage. This is like a summary of the classification of vows spoken from within this tantra itself. Seventh, in the tenth chapter of the Sambhuta, it is directly said: "The body of women and men, born from various actions, should not be done without understanding, it is the Vajra Samaya of the body. The suffering of various sentient beings, and the conceptualizations of the network of conceptualizations, should not be despised in the mind, it is the Vajra Samaya of the mind. Do not be dissatisfied with jealousy, do not speak harsh words, etc., only speak pleasant words, it is the Vajra Samaya of speech." Like this, the three vows of body, speech, and mind are spoken. Vows and precepts are distinguished by name, but the meaning is the same, because Jetsun said so. Later lamas, the Sakyas, said: "All violations of the root and branch vows of body, speech, and mind are confessed." This must be a confusion of the Nyingma school, because the vows of body, speech, and mind are the tradition of the Nyingma school, and it is not mentioned in any of the new school's treatises. Writing like this is like commenting on the scriptures without seeing them. Second, regarding the classification of the two vows, in the Shravaka Vehicle it is said that there are two vows of mind and root, and in the Mahayana Paramita Vehicle it is said that there are two vows of aspiration and action Bodhicitta.
