When my own side's basis for karmic results is blocked, they establish the other side's ruined object as the basis for karmic results. To a single object that should be destroyed by grasping at reality, they add six more grasps at reality. Maitreya and Nagarjuna both agree that karma and afflictions arise from conceptual thoughts. The conceptualization of the three spheres, as stated, is an affliction obscuration, so there is no conceptualization of a knowledge obscuration. If it is a self-grasping of phenomena, it is because it pervades grasping at only the first of the four extremes. They say that the object to be abandoned on the Mahayana path is precisely the self-grasping of phenomena. They say that the Mahayana view, like the sun, and the Shravaka view, which cannot even tolerate a firefly, are no different, and they consider the power of realization to be superior in the Shravakas. Why? Because the object to be abandoned is a single grasping at truth. Shravakas abandon it with three lifetimes through realization, while Mahayana requires two countless eons to abandon it through realization. They say that it is impossible to abandon the knowledge obscuration below the seventh Mahayana ground, and when it contradicts Maitreya's texts, they proclaim to everyone that it is only provisional. They dare to say that the hidden meaning of the Prajnaparamita, the single path of the Buddhas of the three times, as explained by the protector Maitreya, is provisional. The followers believe this. Some individuals who have not attained the path of seeing proclaim secret views, saying that after directly seeing the truth, they can abandon the afflictions of the three realms. The followers flaunt it like an ornament. When examining the nature of reality, the object of examination, due to the difference in the desire for appearance and non-appearance, causes a difference between Prasangika and Svatantrika. Without understanding even a little of that meaning, they make the other's accepted sign into their own system's reason, and they say that they establish the self-characteristic with their own system's sign. It is true that uneducated fools think so, but even those who pretend to be learned scholars follow this. Alas, how sad! In this degenerate age, sentient beings abandon the excellent path explained unanimously by the Indian and Tibetan scholars and siddhas, like discarding golden ornaments, and constantly use their own fabricated firewood. It is amazing! If there are those who want to argue whether these are the thoughts of Chandrakirti, then let them argue by using Chandrakirti's three great commentaries as evidence. I will participate even more actively in the debate.
