If someone asks, "Because (the Vaisheshika school) does not acknowledge that (sound) and (tangible objects) have a common basis." This is not a fault, because it is said from the perspective of the opponent (the Vaisheshika school). Because the Vaisheshika school believes that atoms are tangible and that (sound) and (permanence) have a common basis. Why are these reasons, which are characteristics of the subject, valid in the case of self-inference, but need to be stated in the case of other-inference? The answer is: It has already been said that it is for the subsequent inference. In order to understand the stated reasons, only the characteristics of the subject are explained in detail. This is said because other-inference is for the purpose of showing (the object to be proven) to others by stating the three aspects correctly and without error. Therefore, this is very reasonable. (Upper side) Sound is the subject, is permanent, because it is measurable. The similar instance is space, the dissimilar instance is a pot, and it pervades both. Sound is the subject, is impermanent, because it is produced. The similar instance must exist in a pot, and the dissimilar instance must not exist in space. Sound is the subject, is produced by effort, because it is impermanent. The similar instance pervades the pot, and the dissimilar instance exists partially in both lightning and space, respectively. (Right side) Sound is the subject, is permanent, because it is produced. The similar instance does not exist in space, and the dissimilar instance must exist in a pot. Sound is the subject, is permanent, because it is audible. The similar instance does not exist in space, and the dissimilar instance must not exist in a pot. Sound is the subject, is permanent, because it is produced by effort. The similar instance does not exist in space, and the dissimilar instance exists partially in both the pot and lightning, respectively. (Middle, under the wheel) Sound is the subject, is not produced by effort, because it is impermanent. The similar instance exists partially in both lightning and space, respectively. The dissimilar instance must exist in a pot. Sound is the subject, is impermanent, because it is produced by effort. The similar instance exists partially in both the pot and lightning, respectively. The dissimilar instance does not exist in space. Sound is the subject, is permanent, because it is not tangible. The similar instance exists partially in both space and atoms, respectively. The dissimilar instance exists partially in both action and a pot, respectively. (Left side) By stating the three aspects that one has seen, in order to show the hidden object to be proven to others, in order to understand the way of stating, through the characteristics of the subject.

It is necessary to clearly distinguish reasoning. This is called the summary verse, which should be explained in detail as before. Inference for the sake of others has been explained. The teachings that have become a measure are like a wish-fulfilling jewel, Cleaning with the words of debate and refutation, Completely eliminating the dirt of wrong views, For the treatises that are the crown jewels of reason, Explaining by combining the seven sections from top to bottom, Explaining by collecting the good parts of Indian commentaries, And explaining by one's own conceptualization, In this land of snows, there are three ways of explaining, Having become accustomed to the path of reasoning in many lifetimes, Possessing the oral instructions of an immaculate lineage, And possessing the wisdom of Manjushri's heart, The Sakyas consider the first way of explaining. Like a bee that delights in flowers, By relying on the lotus garden of the speech of the Gentle Protector Lama, Having thoroughly understood the meaning of the words with wisdom, Nowadays, the teacher is only me. For the five groups of heretics who have turned away from the teachings, And the Tirthikas who speak of eternal substances on the other shore, As well as those who speak of universals as real, This treatise that destroys the evil conceptualizations residing in the land of snows has been composed. In the unprecedented divine path of innovation, With the supreme mandala of unparalleled wisdom, Led by the turquoise horse of the unsurpassed tenets, Therefore, I think there is no fault in this. Even so, since it is difficult to explain the hidden reality from the perspective of this shore, Since the King of Reasoning has said so, if there is a fault, Please forgive me, assembly of impartial scholars. Those who seek liberation and possess intelligence, In order to accomplish only food, clothing, and sweet words, Abandoning the scriptures and deceiving with words, Be careful of the behavior of bad spiritual friends. Why? Because it is the ship that wants to cross from the ocean of samsara, is the teaching. If practiced improperly, in the middle of the water, It will sink, so it is difficult to reach the other shore. Therefore, for the sake of arising what is needed and desired by oneself and others, If you want to obtain the omniscient wish-fulfilling jewel, You should board the ship of hearing, thinking, and meditating, which has been well-repaired with the nails of reasoning. From the clear and well-spoken explanations of the seven sections, By taking the pure white virtue that arises as an omen, And also my body, possessions, and The virtue of the three times
