If it is said that even without a basis, there is a non-conceptual certainty, so there is no fault. Then, what does non-conceptual certainty refer to? Does it refer to the certainty of merely the appearance of its own object? Or does it refer to the removal of superimpositions through the method of elimination? If it is like the first case, then the sign and inference that establish sound as impermanent after the sound-cognizing perception become meaningless, because when it sees the impermanence of sound, it ascertains it. If it is like the second case, then the sound-cognizing perception becomes conceptual, because it is a mind that severs superimpositions through the method of elimination. There is no fault in our own system, because the sense perception that apprehends a pot, although there is no difference in it being a valid cognition for the shape of the pot and for being produced and impermanent, it is able to generate certainty about the shape of the pot by its own power, because for it, there is no conflicting condition of confusion, and the favorable condition of familiarity is long-lasting, and the mind is attentive. There is no certainty that can generate certainty about its impermanence by its own power, because for it, there are causes of confusion, such as the appearance of other similar things, etc. Second, regarding elimination, there are the ways in which it is explained in the texts and commentaries, the views of Tibetan scholars, and the identification of the Sakya school's view, totaling three. The first has two aspects: the way it is explained in the texts, and the way it is explained in the commentaries. The first is that the "Compendium of Valid Cognition" speaks of the complete chapter on the investigation of elimination. In the "Commentary on Valid Cognition," in the first chapter, the discussion of other-exclusion is extensively explained, starting from the establishment of the relationship between the sign-property of the nature sign and the establisher. In the chapter on perception, when establishing that universals are non-entities, and when establishing that perception is free from conceptualization, the discussion of other-exclusion is also extensively explained. In the chapter on benefit for others, the discussion of other-exclusion is also briefly explained. The second has two aspects: the discussion of three other-exclusions and the discussion of two other-exclusions. The first is the views of Abbot Shantarakshita, Vimuktisena, and Shakya Lodro. That is, because the counter-entity is without self-nature. Therefore, it is the other-exclusion of non-affirming negation, and the wisdom of universals is also confused, therefore it is the other-exclusion of wisdom, and similar things are other entities, etc. Therefore, it is considered to show the other-exclusion of self-characterized entities. Among them, Shantarakshita says, here are the eliminations

There are two, namely non-being and absence. Non-being is also of two kinds, distinguished by intellect and meaning. Thus, in terms of excluding others, there are two types of exclusion: exclusion by non-affirming negation and exclusion by affirming negation. Within exclusion by non-affirming negation, there are also two types: intellectual exclusion and semantic exclusion, making a total of three exclusions. Regarding the identification of semantic exclusion, it is stated: "Imperishable, etc., are intrinsic meanings, inherently distinct from others." And regarding the identification of intellectual exclusion, it is stated: "Whatever appears to the consciousness based on that, an image of meaning with conceptualization, is determined as meaning for what is not the nature of meaning. Because it exists without mixing with others, its own characteristic is also its cause." And regarding the identification of exclusion by affirming negation, it is stated: "In this cow, there is no non-cow. Thus, the negation of absence is said to be the exclusion of others, which is very clear and should be understood as such." It is said. The meaning of these is that semantic exclusion is imperishable, that is, intrinsic meanings such as haritaki, which exist without mixing with others due to their own nature, are called exclusion of others. Regarding intellectual exclusion, some say that the appearance of a cow in the conceptualization that grasps a cow in that text, which is attributed to the intrinsic nature of the cow, is shown as intellectual exclusion. This is unreasonable because it contradicts "its own characteristic." Therefore, that text shows the grasped aspect of the conceptualization that grasps a cow with three distinctions as the intellectual exclusion of the cow. The first two lines show the distinction of the cause of such conceptualization arising through the intrinsic nature of the cow. The middle two lines show the distinction of the essence that is confused with the appearance and sign being the same. And "its cause" shows the distinction of the result of obtaining the intrinsic nature of the cow. Because the meaning of "The nature of that grasping aspect is conceptual intellect, meaningless yet resembling the meaningful, in that non-meaning with the fruit of it, what ultimately different birth is there?" appears to be the same. Because it exists without mixing with others, its own characteristic also shows that not only is semantic exclusion intrinsic, but intellectual exclusion is also intrinsic. *Tharpa Jungne* also appears in the language of *Tarkika* in the same way, that is, it says there that meaning is exclusion.
