Now, 'da' is itself. It is like 'ngan' (bad). How are the three types of 'ma ning' (PANDAKA, eunuch) distinguished by their companions? How are the sounds pronounced? If 'a', which belongs to one of the three types distinguished by companions, is connected to a male letter with a space of one tseg bar (syllable space), it pronounces its own sound strongly. If it is connected to a weak, i.e., a female letter, it pronounces its own sound weakly. If it is connected to both male and female letters within a space of one tseg bar, it pronounces either strongly or weakly. If it is not connected to both male and female letters but is connected to a 'ma ning', it changes to an equal tone and does not change to either strong or weak. Here, the male letters are the five that do not take 'ka' etc., and the four that take 'ga' etc., making nine in total. For example, 'bka' bca'' (law, rule) etc., and like 'dga' gda'' (to be happy, to exist). The female letters are the nine female letters already mentioned, and the sixteen letters excluding the five 'ma ning' letters, including all the vowels. Like 'mnga'', 'ja'' (rainbow) etc. The 'ma ning' letters are the five starting with 'kha'. Like 'mkha'', 'cha'' (to vow) etc. Therefore, the 'ma ning' letter 'a' changes according to the distinction of its companions, and it is considered to have three types: two natures, and no nature. This is because if it is connected to either a male or a female letter, it changes to strong or weak; if it is connected to both, it changes to having both natures; and if it is connected only to a 'ma ning', it does not change to anything. Secondly, regarding the way of using meanings, there are two types of meanings: how the former has become, and how the latter will change. Having briefly shown this, the first is: the former is used like the five prefixes. As it is said in the section on prefixes, 'The male is for the past and for accomplishing others,' etc., 'ga', 'da', 'ba', and 'sa' indicate the past, others, and the accomplishment of actions. Like 'bzhag', 'bzhed', 'bkab', 'mkhas'. 'Nga', 'na', 'ma', 'ra', and 'la' indicate the present and both self and others. Like 'gzung', 'dzin', 'sdom', 'dir', 'tshal'. The letter 'a' indicates self and the future. Like 'mya ngan las 'da'', 'dus las 'da' bar 'gyur' (to escape from suffering, to become to transcend time). Secondly, there are two ways in which the latter changes: the actual way of leading, and incidentally explaining the secret of sound translation. The first is: 'Of the latter,' etc., thirteen verses. When a male leads a male final consonant, in order after 'ga' etc., 'rig pa', 'byed pa', 'grub pa', 'spangs pa', like that.

And also, after ག་ད་བ་, connect with words like ཅེ་ན། ཅིང་། ཅེས་, just like the connection of ཅ་; after ད་བ་སའི་, connect with words like ཀྱི་ཀྱང་ཀ་. Likewise, others should also be understood. The second, fourth, and seventh cases add the letter ཏུ་ after ག་ and བའི་, such as མཆོག་ཏུ། བྱང་ཆུབ་ཏུ་. In the "Thirty Verses," as indicated by "ས་ of the owner," མཁྱེན་པ། རོལ་པ། ནོར་པ་, etc., although ending with feminine letters, should also use masculine letters to guide the word endings. Previous scholars like Kawa Chak and others believed that these should use masculine to guide masculine word endings, and because they were worried about using feminine to guide feminine word endings, they added ད་དྲག་. For example, མཁྱེན་ཀྱང་། མཁྱེན་ཅིང་། མཁྱེན་ཏོ། མཁྱེན་པ་, etc., add ད་དྲག་ after ན་; སོ་ཐར་ཀྱི་སྡོམ་པ། རྣམ་ཐར་ཅི་བཞིན། ཐར་ཏོ། ཐར་པ་, etc., add ད་དྲག་ after ར་; དོན་འགྲེལ་ཀྱིས་བཤད། བཀའ་འགྲེལ་ཇི་བཞིན། འགྲེལ་ཏོ། འགྲེལ་པ་, etc., add ད་དྲག་ after ལ་. These should all be understood. In short, when ཀ་ཅ་ཏ་པ་ཙ་, etc., guide the word endings of ན་ར་ལ་, ད་དྲག་ should be added, but ན་ར་ལ་ should not be added after others. Some later scholars also believed that ད་དྲག་ should be added after མ་ in words like དོན་དམ་ཀྱང་, and ད་དྲག་ should also be added after ང་ in words like རྐང་པ་. Feminine guiding feminine word endings, such as ཐུང་བ། རིང་བ་, ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ། དམན་པ་, བསམ་པ། སྒོམ་པ་, ཚོར་བ། དོར་བ་, ཉལ་བ། གྲོལ་བ་, etc. These are all feminine letters བ་ guiding the word endings of ང་ན་མ་ར་ལ་. Similarly, after these words, དུ་, གི་, གྱི་, ཞེ་ན་, ཞིང་, ཡང་, etc., should be added, but རུ་, ཏོ་, ཀྱི་, ཅེ་ན་, ཅིང་, ཀྱང་, etc., should not be added. Neuter guiding neuter word endings, such as བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་དཔའ་རུ་འགྱུར། དགའ་རུ་སོང་ན་, etc. Masculine, feminine, and neuter word endings should all be guided in a way that is consistent with their respective genders, guiding the seven cases and the vocative, i.e., Dharma is the first case, object is the second case, agent is the third case, purpose/reason (for...) is the fourth case, source is the fifth case, relation is the sixth case, location is the seventh case, and the vocative is part of the first case. Among them, the first case
