Therefore, relying on the unbroken preservation of the signs, attire, and name lineage of the Kagyu Dakpo Lhaje, the Kagyu teachings have been propagated in the world, becoming an unparalleled example. Like this, the meaning of the Kagyu is transmitted through the blessings of the lineage, and it is considered necessary to keep this in mind. As Bangar Jampal Zangpo said: "I pray to the Lord who knows the three times! I, too, have been given the name of lineage holder. Please firmly maintain this unwavering resolve!" As it is said, for this lineage, the deeds of Phagdru are like a speck of dust on the great earth. Therefore, if the foundation of the Kagyu Dharma, which you firmly believe in and which has become the antidote to the two obscurations, has not taken root in your own mindstream, even if you ask many lamas for various methods to tame your own mindstream and strive to practice, no signs or marks of experiential realization leading to liberation will arise in your mindstream. Eventually, you will not develop deep trust in any lama or Kagyu Dharma tradition, but will only cling to worldly things with fleeting attachment, leading to a gradual decline in devotion. If this continues, like a son of many fathers losing his lineage, you will not accomplish any meaning for yourself or others, and your life will be wasted. Therefore, once a reliable and unfailing measure of the Kagyu, which allows you to taste the flavor of liberation, arises in your own mindstream, a genuine and unfeigned conviction will arise: "How wonderful it would be if all those who desire liberation in the ten directions, throughout the boundless expanse of the sky, could join my Kagyu!" At that time, when you hear of a certain Buddha's pure land, assembly, lifespan, radiance, marks, and miraculous activities in a certain direction, you will not be overwhelmed with admiration and longing to go there, but will think: "All these wonders are nothing but the manifestation of this lama's activities. How could such wonders arise otherwise?" Thus, the ocean of unwavering faith in your own Kagyu and root lama will be unassailable, its depth immeasurable, its surging unstoppable, for this is the nature of dependent arising. Considering such key points, Nyemo Wangchuk Gyaltsen said:

Just like it says, "Having found a jewel, one abandons the jujube; having found the nectar of the gods, one abandons bad food; having found the peerless Jetsun, one abandons other protectors; having found the Buddha in one's mind, one abandons other teachings." Like this, from the path of the Dharma and the individual who is liberated, one must also join one's kind mother and other suffering beings, and one must learn this. 111 It is also said like this: When asking Geshe Gonpawa for instructions, Geshe Gonpawa said: If you ask me for meditation, then all the teachings of study and meditation from before should be abandoned as if wiping a conch shell. If the mind does not turn to the cause of liberation, and does not transform the inverted mind, then even if one verbally says that one is practicing my teachings, one will not go on the path of Dharma. If the Guru's instructions go to the point, then a situation will arise where sectarianism and conceptual thoughts are not mixed. Then I will teach you meditation. First, as he said, meditate by focusing the mind on a single bindu. As a result, when the patron meditated, because the mind did not grasp wisdom, he asked other Geshes for similar methods, and as a result, it was helpful to slightly grasp the mind. Then he said to Gonpawa again: I was thinking of asking other Geshes for some fragmentary methods, what do you think? Gonpawa said: There is no need to ask others for fragmentary methods, listen to me and meditate. Then after nine months, meditation progressed, and the patron said to Geshe Gonpawa again: My mind has calmed down a bit inside. Gonpawa said: Your meditation is like inserting a spear into a hole. Stop now, your view and meditation are like spinning a spear in the sky. Now even if you ask others for some fragmentary Dharma, or look at some fragmentary Dharma, it will be helpful, in short, practice my Dharma without mixing it with other Dharmas. After that, the interest in listening to Dharma was also gone, the interest in reading books was also gone, the mind was completely focused on meditation, and as a result, later he entered the state of Samadhi. Now there is no need for the effort of meditation, and I can enter Samadhi, he said. Gonpawa said: Now the view and meditation are like spinning a spear in the sky. Then, the teacher patron said to Gonpawa: The Dharma that the teacher has taught, you practice secretly yourself, and the Dharma that you are going to teach to others, do you learn from other Geshes and then teach it? Gonpawa said
