Whatever mind arises, that is called the Bodhicitta of a Bodhisattva. The mind that benefits and brings happiness to all sentient beings, the unsurpassed mind, the mind that approaches with loving-kindness, the mind that is irreversible with compassion, the mind that has no regret with joy, the mind that has no defilement with equanimity, the mind that is not changed by emptiness, the mind that has no obscuration with no characteristics, the mind that does not abide with no aspiration. It is because of these and other statements. The non-dual wisdom that arises in this system, that is, wisdom or prajna, is that which distinguishes the nature of all dharmas individually, and thus understands the nature of any dharma as it is. Because it makes all the objects and aspects of all knowable things measurable, and thus becomes the infallible measurer in name, namely, valid cognition. The non-dual wisdom desired by the Mind-Only school is not that which understands in that way. Because the measurer of the objects and aspects of knowable things that look outward is not it, but the knowable things of knowledge that look inward are separated from both the grasped and the grasper, and thus established as non-dual wisdom. Therefore, the non-dual wisdom desired by the Mind-Only school, whether true or false, although it appears extensively in their scriptures, the function of that non-dual wisdom cannot even nominally accomplish the accumulation of the two accumulations and the abandonment of the two obscurations (39b). Because the continuum of action towards knowable things that look outward has ceased, and when action is taken towards knowable things that look inward, that action becomes permanent. If it is said that the latter reason is not established, then it is necessarily so. Because even when the non-dual wisdom that looks inward knows itself, it has no momentary parts in the nature of knowledge, and it is established as the ultimate truth that is truly established without difference in substance between the object and the subject. If you think it is not pervasive, then it is necessarily pervasive. Is the partless wisdom, truly established, permanent there? If it is permanent, then its action becomes permanent. If the first reason is not established, then the partless wisdom, truly established, is not established there. Because that which is established there is not permanent there. If the second reason is not established, then the partless wisdom, truly established, it

It is permanent, its function should be impermanent, because it is not established. If admitted, then the permanent should produce the impermanent. The indivisible wisdom, truly established, from the nature of the permanent produces its impermanent function. If admitted, then cause and effect should be confused, because of the admission. Also, when that arises from that, does wisdom change or not? If according to the first case, then the indivisible wisdom, truly established, should become impermanent. Because when its function arises from the indivisible wisdom, truly established, the indivisible wisdom changes. If according to the second case, then cause and effect are simultaneous, and the function of the indivisible wisdom always arises. Because the indivisible wisdom, truly established, does not change and its function arises from it. Or, that is not produced from that. Because when that is produced from that, that has not changed at all. This is incidental. The second is: Because compassion is the victory and abundant harvest, like seeds and water for a long time, like enjoying dwelling and ripening, therefore I first praise compassion. Among the three causes for establishing a mind-hero, the two causes also arise from the cause of compassion. First, praise compassion itself. For example, for a bountiful crop, seeds, water, and ripening are necessary in the beginning, middle, and end, because they produce sprouts that have not yet sprouted, increase those that have already sprouted, and ripen the fruit so that future fruits remain good. Praising by applying this metaphor to compassion is: What is the reason for praising great compassion? Loving-kindness, great compassion itself, is necessary for the victory and abundant harvest in the three times. First, it is the same as the seed of all the Buddha's teachings, because it produces the sprouts of the two Bodhicittas that have not yet sprouted. Relying on it, the two Bodhicittas arise in the continuum according to the principle that one does not arise without the other, which is its nature. The protector Nagarjuna said: What is the Great Vehicle, compassion leading all actions, immaculate wisdom proclaimed, sentient beings
