An ignorant person should not comment on the words of the wise, but because of a long acquaintance, I record whatever wonderful things I have seen. Om, Vajrasattva, Hum) Here are some questions: The wisdom body of all Buddhas, Jamyang (འཇམ་དབྱངས།,Manjushri) wearing a reddish-yellow monastic robe, The lotus feet of Choskyi Lodro (ཆོས་ཀྱི་བློ་གྲོས།,Dharma Wisdom) are victorious on the crown of my Kunga (ཀུན་དགའ།,All Joy). The thunder of your speech, like clouds, The thunder of your speech, like clouds, enters the ears of this poor monk, and in an instant, the body of wisdom dances with joy. Out of compassion, you ask questions in a wonderful way. Although I am ignorant, I muster courage and respectfully ask: In this degenerate age, the one who upholds the teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha in accordance with the Dharma is the embodiment of the perfect Buddha, named Jamgön Lekpa (འཇམ་མགོན་ལེགས་པ།,Manjushri Protector, the Good One), This holy being has erected the victory banner of the Sakya school's wish-fulfilling jewel-like tradition on the highest peak of study, reflection, and meditation. When the rain of profound and vast Dharma falls equally on all, sentient beings receive different benefits according to their individual capacities and past karma and aspirations, like the moon's reflection in water. I regard this Dharma Lord as the actual Buddha, and with unwavering respect, I disregard suffering and harsh words, pleasing him with four meaningful actions, and I take a vow to follow his teachings. Having been taken care of by your compassionate heart, like a father giving wealth to his son, you gladly bestow upon me the treasure of profound secret oral instructions. Therefore, in my own treatise, The basis for identifying the cause and effect of the ālaya (ཀུན་གཞི།,all-ground), dividing it into abiding and appearing, is to dispel ignorance of the ground. The distinction between the two truths is made because appearance is the conventional truth, and abiding is the ultimate truth. In many sutras and tantras and their commentaries, the ālaya is said to be the mere clarity and awareness that is the basis for the accumulation of habitual tendencies, or it is said to refer to the unchanging realm of reality, or it is said to refer to the union of awareness and emptiness. These statements are all for the purpose of clarifying their meaning. In all three aspects of the ground, path, and result of this stainless and excellent tradition, the intention is to unite the two truths, Especially during the path, having well understood the interdependent emptiness and the way in which emptiness appears as cause and effect, By the secret key of mixing samsara and nirvana, all impure and deluded appearances are transformed into the nature of the three pure bodies. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Therefore, for the benefit of progressing on the path of seeing, I have spoken these words. When Nāgārjuna meditates on the inseparability of samsara and nirvana on the path, he says that distinguishing the essence and dross of awareness is like discarding the dross and manifesting the essence. The venerable ones of the Sakya school do not believe that by abandoning the conventional truth, one can realize the ultimate truth. Dividing existence into appearance and place is explained by the glorious Sakya Paṇḍita in his answers to rGyan po pa and in works such as 'Ornament of the Three Tantras'. Dividing awareness into essence and dross is not mentioned in the teachings of his lineage masters. Therefore, these two are not the same. The omniscient Yeshe Gsar skyes said that in the state of ordinary beings, there is no awareness at all; in the stage of aspiration, there is only the general meaning; and on the path of seeing, supreme awareness is newly born. This is in accordance with the views of most Indian and Tibetan scholars and siddhas, and he also follows this view. Furthermore, some of the great beings of the past said that there is no awareness, while others believed that there is awareness. The great Paṇḍita Sakya Paṇḍita, in order to show the basis for all his teachings, distinguished that the omniscient one has awareness, while in attaining the Dharmadhatu free from elaboration, it is said that there is no awareness. And so on, he made various distinctions. Other gzhan stong Madhyamikas say that awareness has always existed. In some Dzogchen texts, it is also seen that on the level of the primordially pure Dharmadhatu, it is said that there is no awareness. Although there are many different views, since they are not relevant to the current topic, I will leave them aside for now. These well-spoken words that I have composed are in accordance with the three tantras of Hevajra and the teachings of the lineage masters. In speaking these, I have some ability, and when I see the moon-like smiling face of the father guru's blessings, my wisdom increases like the ocean, and the well-spoken words bloom like lotuses. Therefore, when I have the opportunity to have the red-jewel-like dust of the lotus feet of the supreme emanation as an ornament on my crown, I respectfully offer these words from my own throat, and not elsewhere. This self-view that does not fall into the extremes of permanence or annihilation, is explained without adding or subtracting from the tradition, and without error. Please look upon it with impartiality. This cluster of youthful prayers like lotuses, I lift up with ten fingers with utmost respect and devotion, and offer it for the pleasure of you, protector. May your compassionate eyes turn towards us. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
