Is to attain Arhatship. The latter is, by meditating on dependent origination in accordance with the order of arising on all phenomena encompassed by the two truths, all subtle afflictions of the three realms are abandoned. The view is also the same as the former. That is, if one imputes the two, the externally grasped object and the internally grasping consciousness, to the self of phenomena, then it is. The self of a person is the grasping of "I" and "mine," which is called the self of person and the self of phenomena. The Hearers do not realize the latter as superior to the former. Solitary Realizers realize that the external grasping of the former and the latter does not exist, but they do not realize that the internal grasping does not exist. The self of phenomena is the meditation that all external objects are without inherent existence, and that the internally grasping consciousness is also emptiness, free from the three characteristics of arising, ceasing, and abiding; this latter is solely the realization of the Great Vehicle. For both Hearers and Solitary Realizers, the eight inferior grounds, such as the ground of white appearance, are taught. Based on that, there are Stream-enterers, Once-returners, Non-returners, and Arhats; each is divided into two, entering and abiding, so they are known as the four pairs and eight individuals. For Bodhisattvas, it is taught that there are four fruits of asceticism on the ten grounds, which is the establishment of the system of the Omniscient One. Among them, an Arhat is one who knows the exhaustion of outflows and non-arising. The exhaustion of outflows is abiding in the realm of cessation of the aggregates without remainder and all assemblies of thoughts, abiding in that way for the duration of time that the previous accumulations were gathered, and finally being born in the Pure Land of Great Bliss, etc., and being urged by the compassion of the Buddhas, one becomes enlightened. Root: The root of all dependent phenomena is ignorance, from which arise formations, consciousness, name and form, from which arise the six sense bases and contact, from which arises feeling, from which arises craving, from craving arise grasping and existence, from existence arises birth, if there is birth, then one is afflicted by desire, and because of the accumulation of suffering such as sorrow and old age and death, which is extremely great, when birth ceases, everything ceases; this profound dependent origination of cause and effect is the treasury of the words of the Victorious One who speaks the truth. The meaning is this: due to ignorance, there are formations; due to formations, there is consciousness; due to consciousness, there are name and form. Similarly, dependent origination in accordance with the order of arising.

Also, due to the condition of birth, there is aging, sickness, and death. And due to this condition, there arise sorrow, lamentation, and discomfort, etc. Furthermore, when ignorance ceases, actions and other things also cease. Ignorance is not understanding the truth of one's own self-aware wisdom, and that is ultimate ignorance. Moreover, ignorance, craving, and grasping are the path of affliction. Action and existence are the path of karma. The remaining limbs are the path of maturation. Among these, ignorance, action, consciousness, craving, grasping, and existence, these six causes are completed in the previous life, and the remaining six are completed in this life as the result. To make it easier to understand, I will only speak to the extent of my own understanding. Initially, at the time of mental confusion and at the time of death, after the dissolution stages of the bardo are completed, at the time when the mother and child lights of the base and path merge, one recognizes oneself, and the two ignorances are almost the same. Due to this cause, existence and the bardo are brought together, and because of its consciousness accompanied by wind, it is involuntarily like a feather carried away by the wind. And, from the aggregate of form composed of the four elements, there is no coarse support. From the six faculties of the mind-body, the six consciousnesses arise and spread. These six consciousnesses experience feelings of pleasure, pain, and neutrality by contacting the six objects. Due to this cause, craving arises for taking a body, and due to craving, entering the womb is taking. Entering the womb and not coming out is existence, and coming out is birth, and due to this cause there is old age, sickness, death, etc., the former cause promotes the latter. These are internal dependent origination. External dependent origination is: relying on a seed to produce a sprout; relying on warmth and moisture to grow plants; relying on parents to produce children; relying on the surface of water to reflect the images of stars; relying on pillars and beams to support the floors of a house, similarly, all phenomena of samsara and nirvana rely solely on dependent origination. In short, just as relying on virtue produces happiness, and relying on evil produces suffering. Root: Although it is so, the actions in existence, High and low karma, and white and black cause and effect, Transcending all, the nature of peaceful and supreme, Unborn.
