How did it happen? It's like abandoning vows to stay at home, like the former royal Rin Chen Drak, and some monks who now enjoy returning to lay life. Those who commit suicide out of hatred, like the heretic Samga Acharya. Those who practice asceticism out of jealousy, like the monk Devadatta. Those who abandon shame out of desire, like the merchant's daughter. Those who abandon modesty out of self-will, like the son of King Dechen. There are many similar situations now, so there's no need to say more. In short, people in the world are willing to give up their bodies and lives for evil deeds, but they are stingy with land and water for good deeds. Because of such faults, the land of hell is as numerous as dust, while heaven is as rare as dust on a fingernail. One should carefully consider this and strive to do good and abandon evil. Root verse: Whether for the sake of the object of offering, relatives, retinue, or for the sake of protecting the country, even if one indulges in powerful sins, the karmic results cannot be shared. This means that the characteristic of sin is that its karmic result is huge, like the image of an elephant, and the mind of abandonment is like being entangled and released by a rope, which is to act recklessly. Whether one commits evil for oneself or others, the karmic results can only be borne by the perpetrator himself and cannot be shared. In particular, the holy Three Jewels, the object of offering, will surely love all beings like a loving mother to her only child. If one kills living beings to make blood offerings, or plunders the wealth of others to make offerings, etc., it will only be the cause of sin, because advocating killing as dharma is the doctrine of barbarians. Similarly, committing evil for the sake of one's own relatives and family, such as Monggala Ma doing many stingy and other evil deeds for her family and son, resulted in her falling into the lower realms, while her son attained the state of Arhat, and her husband was reborn in the realm of Brahma. Furthermore, waging wars and other large-scale conflicts to protect one's retinue and country will not turn into benefiting others unless the practitioner has the skillful means of a Bodhisattva, but is only for self-preservation, therefore the sin is extremely great. Although sinful actions are not immediately cut off like swords, at the time of death and after death

Where do the fruits of sin manifest? It is written in the commentary. Root verse: Craving gain and only loving pleasure, Delighted in praise and becoming arrogant when praised, From which one thing the other four bring harm, These children are deceived by worldly dharmas. This means that the eight worldly dharmas that are contrary to the holy Dharma are: Hoping and craving for food, wealth, and gain, Attachment to pleasure, Delight in pleasant words, Arrogance arises when praised by others, these are the four dharmas; If gain is not obtained, one becomes discouraged, and if unhappiness arises, one suffers, If unpleasant words are heard, one regrets, and if criticism is heard, one becomes angry, these eight in total are sure to deceive children, therefore it is very important not to mistake what to take and what to leave. To summarize the meaning, one must be impartial to the conceptualizations arising from the eight worldly dharmas, liking the first four such as gaining, and disliking the latter four such as not gaining. Root verse: Boasting of lineage, form, power, etc., Indulging in laziness and hiding beside the lame, Those who arouse manifest pride and unpleasantness, They become demons who hate the glory of asceticism. With the strong power of craving and attachment, With the deceitful vines that suppress, Although others are deluded and protect themselves, That great harm enters one's own belly. This means that arrogance, such as pride in lineage, form, power, learning, youth, etc., is a general term for pride and arrogance, and these faults cause one to praise oneself, let alone strive in the three studies of hearing, thinking, and meditating, Even laziness and indolence in the three activities of eating, drinking, and sleeping, etc., suppress the key points of the three doors, loosen the six consciousnesses, and indulge in apparent dharmas, just like a lame person hiding beside a cripple, unwilling to engage in travel or anything else, like the arrogance mentioned above is not only hidden, but also manifest pride, which causes others to become angry and unpleasant, these people are demons who hate vows and asceticism, that is, the merits that are in accordance with vows and asceticism, greed is holding on tightly to one's own food and wealth, Attachment is attachment to the body and enjoyment of others.
