If food cannot be found in the mountains, they again prayed to Arya Avalokiteśvara, who granted a handful of jewels and five kinds of grains, saying to scatter them in that direction. Just as he said, they scattered the seeds in the direction of Tibet, and it is said that various enjoyments such as food, drink, and nourishment arose from that power. Thus, the five hundred monkey children, using the grains and so on given by Arya, transformed into humans, possessing the six great clans of Dong, Dri, Ra, Dra, Zla, or Da. But in reality, there are no others besides the descendants of the monkeys just mentioned. Therefore, the identification of the six great clans is spoken of differently, based on shapes, colors, gestures, and so on, rather than taking the words of old householders as a standard and speaking like an old yak following an old path, which is the way of inferior fools. Therefore, here in Tibet, the division into rulers and subjects is only a matter of temporary power and wealth, not based on divisions of ethnicity or greatness of qualities. As it is said: India values reason, China values adornment, Tibet values food and wealth. Even so, there are many of the lineage of householder Bodhisattvas who are able to give benefit and happiness to the teachings and beings. In particular, places like Lithang Derge are no different from the three protectors of the holy land and the three ancestral kings of Bhutan, being truly Dharma-abiding banners. Therefore, do not distinguish based on the differences between rulers and subjects, and the high and low of politics and religion, without the division of ethnicities, because each place appears like rulers and subjects are reversed, so do not follow local officials and narrow-minded people. In short, regarding the determination of my clan, in general, it does not go beyond the meditation of the monkey, but specifically speaking, if following ancient legends, it can be truthfully matched, then if it is clearly recorded in previous Dharma histories and royal histories, it must be explained in that way, which is inevitable, but what is there to say about someone like me? It is difficult to truthfully tell the origins of those who are in high positions, and seeking faults in high places is nothing more than the source of lies. However, if we follow reliable ancient legends to explain, then among the aforementioned Dong clan,

It is said that among the eighteen great clans branching out from the Se clan, two branches, A-tsho and A-rig, emerged. The first branch split into six clans, and it is said that the second branch had eighteen sons, also included in the number of the great clans. It is said that the smallest of the six A-tsho clans was named "Buchung Lu," which became the clan's identifier. Buchung had Butsal Chen, who had Zelchung, who had Dorje Gon, followed by Chok Phuk Gyal. Chok Phuk Gyal had four sons, the eldest named Takho, followed by Yagge, Phenni, and Chakdor Kyab. The last son was Namla, who had Chok Kyab Gyal, Lubum Yak, Tsering Gyal, and others. The first, Dawa Za, had seven sons, and the second, Apang Za, had five sons, the eldest of whom was my grandfather Serkya. The first was a direct disciple of Dakpo Sangpo Dorje, an accomplished master. The second householder had eight sons, the first being a successor to Dakpo's Dharma lineage, followed by my father, who had immense faith and pure visions, was skilled in writing, reading, and handicrafts, and in worldly affairs, he could subdue enemies and protect relatives, becoming an object of envy for all, named Zonkho. My mother was the most outstanding of the Sershung Gar, a disciple lineage of the great Vidyadhara Kunsang Sherab, the sister of Lama Syinpa from the successive Nuzok Lamas, named Kyimo Tso, born to parents who greatly aspired to purity. I took birth as their son in the Wood Ox year (year to be determined), appearing like a newly sprouted seedling. Although I remember being nourished by breastfeeding, I will leave that aside for now. After two or three years, while playing with mud with my childhood friends, a karmic imprint from a previous life suddenly arose, and I felt immense sadness, thinking that my homeland and parents were elsewhere. When I asked others, my parents said I must be possessed. At the age of four or five, I would occasionally see wondrous visions of Tögal, which distracted me and gave rise to an indescribable feeling of mixed joy and sorrow. At the age of five or six, I would remember or see people suffering from old age, sickness, or poverty, such as beggars.
