Arrange the supports of the mind, especially the statues of peaceful and wrathful deities. If you have them, display them; if not, it won't be a fault of deficiency. The mandala should also be moderate in size, easy to handle. If you have a cloth-painted thangka, spread it out; if not, it's not inappropriate to rely on torma. Why? Because in both the new and old tantras, the best is powdered color painting, the middle is cloth painting, and the last is torma. The guru's body mandala is an emanation, and it is said that there are definite and indefinite numbers, so don't cling to one extreme. Whichever of these you use, purify the attachment to things and appearances into emptiness, and then generate the supporting palace and the supported assembly of deities again. In any case, on top of the thangka, place five or one, twenty-five, or thirty-five vases filled with essence. If you wish, you can also display blood, bile, mirrors, the substances of the six aggregates, etc. Above, place the tormas of the Three Roots and the Seven Departments of Dharma Protectors according to the text. Among them, the guru's torma is like a burning jewel, like the torma empowerment touching with meaning. On top of the same seat as the yidam, place the five glorious tormas: the five blood-drinking families, father and mother. The twenty triangles outside of that are eight कौरी(藏文,梵文天城体kaurī,梵文罗马拟音kauri,English literal meaning: cowrie shell woman), eight सिंह(藏文,梵文天城体siṃha,梵文罗马拟音simha,English literal meaning: lion-faced dakini), and four gatekeepers. In front of that is a circle, to the right is a square, behind is a crescent, and to the left is a triangle, surrounded by twenty-eight Ishvaras. The tormas of both peaceful and wrathful deities are surrounded by an indefinite number of finger nails. And decorate with white ornaments, meat, butter, food, etc. In addition, you should also arrange your own regular offering torma according to the appropriate size. If it is extensive, it is said to arrange fulfillment tormas, etc., but that is not necessary for recitation and practice. To the left and right of these, place plants soaked in medicine and alcohol separately. From the front of the thangka, arrange two layers of outer and inner offerings, or arrange the seven outer offerings in a row. In addition, it is important to avoid falling into extremes, such as not displaying mustard seeds, effigies, exorcism objects, vajra bells, incense, etc., even though you have them, or postponing retreat practice because you are relying on the future when you don't have them. You yourself should also lay down a clean cushion, or any other cushion, facing the mandala. It is good to draw a yungdrung symbol with rice or tsampa under the cushion. If you draw a cross, there is a fault of offending the mudras.

Now, let's explain the circumstances under which one cannot turn back. In order to firmly erect the stone heap of the Four Great Kings at the outer gate, building a white stone heap and preventing it from collapsing is also a key point. Writing the mantras and prayers of the Four Great Kings on the stone heap, in short, before entering the retreat, through careful observation, the entry and exit of items, wealth, etc., that are transported in and out, and the order of accumulating resources before these, especially ransom, offering sacrifices, sprinkling water, and offering as much as possible to samsara and nirvana, etc., offering upwards and giving downwards, it is very important to do it diligently according to one's ability. These are the stages of preparation and preliminary practices. Secondly, the main practice is also divided into two parts. First, from the morning of the day of staying in retreat, perform a suitable peaceful or wrathful ritual, such as the Gathering of Vidyadharas, etc., and after completing the recitation of mantras, praises, etc., if you wish, you can also perform a Ganachakra. Go to the stone heap at the outer gate, erect the stone heap of the Four Great Kings in a simple or elaborate way, and fix the stone heap so that it does not move. Also, earnestly perform the offering to the Eight Classes of Gods and Demons, cut off the channels of communication between inside and outside, return inside and end the ritual, and then sit quietly for a while. When the evening session arrives, begin to engage in the retreat practice. The second is that if you reduce the complexity, perform a peaceful ritual in the morning. At this time, before entering the peaceful and wrathful ritual, first perform 'The White Lotus of the Path of Liberation' or the self-lineage preliminary practice of this Dharma, or any one of the preliminary practices of 'Longchen Nyingtik', and also recite the lineage prayer of this Dharma first. Recite the offering to the Eight Classes of Gods and Demons several times, and finally earnestly make entrustments. When dispelling obstacles, also offer the retreat deity suitable for this Dharma. Instantly transform your ordinary body and mind into the deity, visualize yourself as the Bhagavan Great Glorious Vajra Heruka, dark blue, with one face, two arms, and three eyes, baring four fangs. The right hand holds a five-pronged vajra blazing with fire, and the left hand holds a threatening mudra, from which also blazes a mountain of fire and flames. The two feet stand in a heroic posture, adorned with nine dances and eight splendors of blazing, terrifying, unbearable majesty and splendor, etc., from his body emanate countless wrathful weapons and flames, driving away and destroying all the demonic obstacles that seduce heretics.
