To fulfill the needs for protecting the stable Dharma. To fulfill the needs for bestowing favorable conditions and accomplishments. To fulfill the needs for averting adverse conditions and obstacles. To fulfill the needs for accomplishing activities and secrets. Having thus fulfilled the needs of the Dharma protectors, one prays for the desired aims: Hūṃ! Great deity who bestows accomplishments, great protector who dispels obstacles, perfectly endowed Lord of Hosts together with your retinue, to you I request and pray: During the time of approach, may your mind not waver. During the time of accomplishment, may you not be far away. During the time of cursing, may your power not be small. During the time of killing, may your strength not be weak. During the time of entrusting, may your activity not stray. Protect the stable Buddha Dharma, and all who uphold, maintain, and spread the Dharma. Prolong life and accomplish activities. Protect the monastic community and the monasteries. Prolong the life, increase the glory, and accomplish the wishes of myself and the patrons with their retinues. Subdue retinues and possessions. Spread fame and renown in the ten directions. Swiftly accomplish the desired attainments. Avert untimely death, disease, and harm, curses, bad omens, and so forth, all adverse conditions and obstacles. From now until enlightenment, be a stable companion like a teaching. I pray that you accomplish the four activities. Furthermore, I pray to you: We yogis who practice, Vajra masters with their disciples, Vajra brothers and sisters, and the patrons who provide support, do not send disease to the people, do not send epidemics to the livestock, do not send hail to the fields, cut the black noose of the demons, turn the judgment of Yama against the enemies, avert unfavorable conditions and obstacles, protect the retinue and avert calamities, inflict signs on the hateful enemies, perform actions on the harmful obstructors, bestow desired attainments upon me, accomplish the entrusted activities. Thus one prays for the desired aims. Finally, one performs confession: Hūṃ! Great one who is the essence of wisdom and compassion, chief lord of all power and strength of activity, who cherishes lineage holders and yogis like children, Dharma protectors and your retinue, listen and consider. Having entered the maṇḍala of the Great Black One, in order to protect the vows that are difficult to transgress, without having accomplished them as taught, without having become a great being, I confess the broken root and branch vows. Always approaching and accomplishing the protector, and offering in accordance with the proper manner,
