From giving onwards, one does not cling to signs. Thus it is said. The mindfulness that focuses on the perfect thought inseparable from the Mother and skillful means is: The great Bodhisattva who has the thought inseparable from the Mother and skillful means, his unexcelled perfect enlightenment is without doubt. Thus it is said. The samadhi that does not conceptualize forms and so on is: The great Bodhisattva, from the time of generating the first thought of enlightenment, from where he manifestly awakens to enlightenment, by whom he manifestly awakens to enlightenment, and in what he manifestly awakens to enlightenment, from form and so on, up to omniscience itself, he does not cling to any dharma. Thus it is said. The wisdom that knows all dharmas in all aspects, yet does not cling to them, is: Sons of the gods, I also manifestly awakened to enlightenment in all aspects of all dharmas, from where I manifestly awaken to enlightenment, by whom I manifestly awaken to enlightenment, or to any dharma in which one manifestly awakens to enlightenment, I do not cling. Thus it is said. Secondly, with sharp or great faith and so on, it is easy to realize or attain perfect enlightenment, while with dull or weak faith and so on, it is difficult to realize perfect enlightenment. The order is: By whom those dharmas by which one manifestly awakens to enlightenment, all of them are empty. Blessed One, therefore, it is easy for the great Bodhisattva to manifestly awaken to unexcelled perfect enlightenment. And to prove this, it is said that from form to omniscience, they are empty of inherent existence. If the great Bodhisattva believes that all dharmas are like the sky, it is also easy to manifestly awaken to unexcelled perfect enlightenment. If there were no difficulty in manifestly awakening to enlightenment, then Bodhisattvas as numerous as the sands of the Ganges would not turn back from unexcelled perfect enlightenment. Venerable Subhuti, therefore, it is difficult to awaken to unexcelled perfect enlightenment. Thus it is said, and for the reason of the difficulty and ease, the venerable one spoke of the sharpness and dullness of faculties. The intermediate, which is implied, is: Shariputra, what do you think? Does form turn back from unexcelled perfect enlightenment? Shariputra said: Venerable Subhuti, it is not so. Up to omniscience, those and other than those, and the suchness of those.

Moreover, it has been prevented that there is a possibility of turning back other than these. Regarding the way to connect the sutras here, in the "Sunlight Treatise," it is divided into three: small, medium, and large, and the way to connect the sutras of the signs of these three is made into two, which is inconsistent with the "Eight Thousand Verse Sutra." Moreover, the "Sunlight Treatise" also adopts two ways of connecting the sutras, and there are very inconsistent places, but the commentators do not seem to have any doubts, because they have not studied it. In fact, it can be clearly understood from the short commentary of Dharma Lord Ngok Chenpo that the demarcation of the sutras is precisely the intention of the noble one. However, considering the large number of words, it is not described here, and you should refer to that commentary. Śānti, Candrakīrti, and the "Lamp of Wisdom Treatise" (Śer sgron) only talk about two kinds of faculties, sharp and dull, and although it is not clearly stated, it seems to be understood according to the Mahāyāna. The "Sunlight Treatise" and the followers of the Grags pa teacher of the "Commentary on Valid Cognition" explain it in three kinds: small, medium, and large. According to the view of the "Sunlight Treatise," this is understood according to the Mahāyāna, because after connecting these three kinds of faculties with the sutras, it is finally said that the signs of these faculties are not being afraid of the Prajñāpāramitā Mother, etc. Grags pa agrees with the teacher's view. The third part is divided into two: the essence and the distinction from the perspective of the basis. The first is: it is a wise person. For what? For the five kinds of objects. These objects, also like the Buddha, etc., are like the root, or like the Dharma and the Sangha, or like generosity, etc., from ethics to omniscience, or like perfect bodhicitta, etc., are its objects of learning, or like non-discrimination, that is, not objects that can be observed, etc., not things that can be boasted about, such as form, sound, etc., or like all aspects of all dharmas such as form, that is, things that can be understood in the way of self-characteristics and general characteristics, and like objects to be abandoned and realized. In what situation? In having trusting faith, and diligent effort in enjoying the practice of the pāramitās, and the mindfulness of not forgetting the object of bodhicitta, and the samādhi of not discriminating the three spheres, and the wisdom that mainly arises from hearing and thinking, having characteristics that surpass the śrāvakas and pratyekabuddhas. Not becoming the master of generating transmundane dharmas, or not having the power to destroy disbelief, etc., therefore not being the nature of the power of pure liberation, this is added to the end of all five objects. According to the number, the subject and the five objects are connected in order. On the path of accumulation, these five are not necessarily present, but because they are the most important, it is said so.
