Having abandoned (afflictions), the aggregates' demon is subdued. It is said in the scriptures that overcoming the four demons is the exhaustion of outflows, which is different from other schools. Here, it is said that the four demons are subdued through application, which refers to the gross and partial aspects. Abiding without abiding means contemplating all phenomena of existence and peace as equality, abiding in a way that does not cling to the extremes of samsara and nirvana. Just as a bird flying in the sky has no dwelling place, and not abiding there, it will not fall to the ground. Similarly, a Bodhisattva practices the gate of liberation, not touching nirvana, nor practicing with signs. Although familiar with the three gates of liberation, one will not realize Suchness until the Dharma of the Buddha is perfected. To tame other disciples, one acts as if propelled by the power of previous aspirations, which is the accomplishment of aspiration. That is, in all circumstances, one puts on the armor for the benefit of others, and one will not realize Suchness until the roots of virtue are perfected. For example, a person who has learned archery shoots an arrow into the sky, and the other arrows are tied to the previous arrow like ropes successively attached behind, so that the previous arrow will not fall to the ground. If that person wants the arrow to fall, the arrow will fall. Similarly, practicing the supreme Prajnaparamita, acting with wisdom, skillful means, power, and miraculous abilities, one will not attain the supreme emptiness until these roots of virtue are perfected. Thus it is said. What is uncommon to Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas is that by the power of not abandoning all sentient beings, even if one studies Suchness, one will not realize it, because one is already very accustomed to all hardships. That is, one should know that one will not realize Suchness in the Bardo until one attains omniscience. For the three, abandoning the white Dharma of realization, great abandonment, and extreme abandonment, one practices hardships. Not clinging to or being attached to all dharmas means that for the white dharmas such as meditation and its corresponding qualities, one is completely pure and does not taste their flavor. At the time of that great Bodhi, one is in accordance with the dharmas of the path to Bodhi, and one will not completely degenerate until one manifests complete enlightenment and becomes a Buddha. Thus it is said. Non-degeneration means not tasting the flavor and increasing. Non-objectification refers to liberation.

By perfectly meditating on the door of emptiness, one abandons the beings' attachment to self and dharma. These beings have long been practicing the four inversions, constantly clinging to permanence, pleasure, self, and purity. For their sake, one should practice towards enlightenment. So it is said. Signlessness or non-existence is, by perfectly meditating on the door of liberation, signlessness, one abides in abandoning the beings' clinging to signs from form to omniscience. These beings have long been practicing signs, and thinking to remove those faults of the beings. So it is said, and so on. Wishlessness or absence thereof is, by perfectly meditating on the door of liberation, wishlessness, one abides in abandoning the beings' delight in existence from form to omniscience. These beings have long been practicing wishes, such as being delighted in Indra and Brahma and the world protectors and the wheel-turning king, and thinking that the faults of the beings' wishes must be removed, thus teaching the Dharma. So it is said. The previously explained sign of non-retrogression or its representation is, by realizing emptiness and the ultimate reality, how do the two that attain the five fruits not manifest? How do they not manifest from signlessness to non-entity, practicing the Prajnaparamita, when a Bodhisattva asks another Bodhisattva, first posing the question, and in answering, being skilled in stating that one must remember the Dharma of non-retrogression. Thus it is said, you should only remember emptiness. Similarly, combine signlessness, wishlessness, non-manifestation, non-arising, non-cessation, you should remember non-entity, and also not completely abandon all beings. Thus prophesying, then the great Bodhisattvas like Subhuti should know that this great Bodhisattva is prophesied by the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, as the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, why is that? Because thus the great Bodhisattva of non-retrogression with.
