It is possible to distinguish separately, and it is merely directly establishing the aspect of grasping in that way, but it is not possible to establish separately by means of the different aspects of the object. If the grasped aspect is not acknowledged, then the grasping aspect itself will not be established. Second, regarding the means of generating realization in others, one is the method of severing the imputation of clinging to one extreme, and the other is the method of severing the hesitation of doubt regarding the two extremes. The first is refutation, which is to make the mind doubtful by throwing out what the opponent does not accept. For example, if one asserts that sound is permanent, it is like throwing out the fault that "because sound is permanent, it is unmade." Furthermore, in order to know that one cannot truly refute with what merely appears to be a refutation, but that one must refute with a correct refutation, both the correct and the apparent are mentioned. If the consequence of proof can also generate inference, because the pervasion has been established by valid cognition, and because there is negation by valid cognition in the commitment, therefore the subject-property of one's own system is established. If so, then it will become no different from the statement of proof of dissimilar pervasion, if you ask. There is no fault, because the reason of consequence and the reason of one's own system are not the same in meaning, and the actual result of these two reasons entering the field of mind is also not the same, because permanence is posited as the sign of consequence, and being made is posited in one's own system. The pervasion of consequence has been established by valid cognition, and the sign has been acknowledged. When it enters the field of mind, the thought arises that "the opponent seems to have to acknowledge the unacceptable point," which is called throwing out the unacceptable point. And through the sign of one's own system, because a valid cognition that focuses on the opponent's view arises in the opponent's mind, it is called establishing one's own view. Second, is the definition of a correct statement of proof, and identifying what it expresses. First, a correct statement of proof is a statement that possesses two parts, which clearly shows to others the three characteristics that the proponent himself has established. Some say that a correct statement of proof has the case of stating only the subject-property, stating only the pervasion, and stating both, in short, it only states the reason. If you ask, if so, then why not acknowledge a sign that only has the subject-property? In order to generate realization on what is to be established, the opponent must ascertain all three characteristics.

If that's the case, does that mean that an uncertain reason also becomes a correct reason? If you think so, then in order to generate inference in front of outsiders, both methods must be stated, and if not, then the statement "sound is also measurable" will also become a correct syllogism for establishing that sound is impermanent. Even if such a reason is stated, it cannot eliminate the doubt of being associated with the contradictory side, therefore, the statement of it will not become a correct syllogism, right? If you think so, then merely stating the property of the subject of the reason, because it does not show the return from the contradictory side, it is not reasonable to become a correct syllogism. Even if pervasion is not shown, merely stating the property of the subject will become a correct syllogism. Because in the case where the relationship has already been understood and not forgotten, merely stating those can generate inference. If that's the case, then in the case where pervasion has already been understood and not forgotten, now merely establishing the property of the subject can also generate inference, why not admit the reason that only has the property of the subject? Even if only the property of the subject is established in that way, because the pervasion that has already been established before has not been forgotten now. Having all three modes becomes a reason, there will be no reason that only has the property of the subject, right? If that's the case, then even if only the property of the subject is stated now, because the relationship must be stated when determining the relationship before, and the function of that statement is still the same now, so it will become a syllogism with two limbs, and there will be no syllogism with only one limb. The front and back of the statement because there is a long time interval between the two, it is not reasonable to become a limb of one syllogism, right? If that's the case, then the statement of the subject property and pervasion that want to have two limbs, also because the times are different, it is not reasonable to become a limb of one syllogism. Therefore, a correct syllogism is pervaded by having two limbs, and the intention of the previous scriptures is that if the limb of pervasion is stated before, and that function does not disappear, then now the property of the subject can also generate inference, it shows this, but not that only that shows it as a correct syllogism. Similarly, one should also understand the statement of pervasion. The second is to imply the definition of the correct property of the subject, and directly show the divisions of the reason. The first is, the meaning of the essence.
