Because it is seen that there should be no self, all the inverted attachments to the self-nature of that self are attached to the existence of a separate entity from the aggregates. One's own sect also mistakenly believes that there is no self that is a separate entity from the aggregates, and only acknowledges the aggregates as the self, thinking that one of the two must be acknowledged. Those who explain the meaning of the scriptures without inversion recognize that neither of the above two exists, and therefore attain liberation many times, that is the self. For all beings, such as humans, pretas, and animals, a strong ego-grasping arises by always focusing on a certain object of focus. Where is this self dominating? Or some things related to that self, the basis on which this self is established, such as the inner self of the eyes, etc., and whatever is external, whatever is the self's possession of that self, there, the mind that grasps as mine arises. That self, in unexamined conventional terms, is established by ignorance and unknowing, but not by its own nature. Because this self is not inherently existent, but in order to be established as existent from ignorance and unknowing, the yogi does not observe such a self in any way. Even if he does not observe it, he will not observe the grasping of the eyes, etc., which are inherently established as the self. Therefore, the yogi does not observe any inherently established things that are the basis of the self and the self's. Therefore, he will be liberated from samsara. The Root Wisdom says: If the inner and outer are all gone, the grasping will cease, and when that ceases, birth will cease. Second, how is it that if the self is not inherently existent, the self's is also not inherently existent? Just as without the potter, there is no pottery as a work, therefore, the self's inherent establishment does not exist in the absence of the self's inherent establishment. Therefore, contemplate the emptiness of the inherent establishment of both the self and the self's, and practice that meaning, then that yogi will be liberated from samsara. Form, etc.
