To show that the permanent, which is undifferentiated and of a single nature, existing in external time, is impossible in the knowable. After teaching in this way, those who have not distinguished the difference between the permanent tenets of the heretics and their own tenets, declare that it is impossible for the permanent to be self-created and unmade. Furthermore, those who think that establishing sound as permanent, which is measurable, is a common uncertainty, also think that this is contradictory. Because they explain the three unmade dharmas from the initial common dharma as the birthplace of dharma, and the dharma to be attained, Nirvana, and the truth of cessation among the four noble truths, and the nature of dharma in the non-common scriptures, which is the meaning of suchness, the ultimate truth is unmade, and they repeatedly declare that these do not exist and slander them. This is unreasonable, so one should understand how one's own school accepts the unmade. That is, once it is accepted as permanent, then whatever exists in the previous time, and is also thought to exist in the later time, is the meaning of the permanent of the heretics. The way ordinary foolish people grasp permanence is also like this. No one in our own school, except for the Vaibhashikas, accepts this understanding of the meaning of permanence. Therefore, as it is said in the Commentary on Valid Cognition, "That whose nature is indestructible, the wise call it permanent." Therefore, the dharma that is indestructible is the meaning of permanent, not as it was understood before. Such an unmade dharma, like the destruction of a clay pot, did not exist when the clay pot was not broken, but exists later, but it must also be established as permanent. It is not necessary for all times and places to be permanent, such as the abandonment of what is to be abandoned by seeing, the abandonment of each of the abandoned, does not exist until it is exhausted, but exists when it is exhausted. Similarly, it can be compared to the exhaustion of the nine levels of what is to be abandoned by meditation. Furthermore, it can also be compared to the destruction of the previous moment in the next moment, and all other destructions. Although we also follow the venerable Chandrakirti in accepting destruction as real, here it should be understood according to the views of this teacher and other teachers. The abandonment of accidental defilements, which is the nature of dharma, is the same as what was said before. If we consider it from the perspective of self-nature purity, the emptiness of the former as the nature of dharma will change when the dharma changes, so it does not exist when the dharma does not exist, so it is occasional.

It will not become impermanent either, because the negation is merely a separation of what is to be negated, and when the basis changes, the attribute also changes. The nature of phenomena that is related to the past and future, although it can serve as a common basis, many of its parts exist. If it is not so, but it is assumed that whatever is permanent exists in all times, then it will be assumed that the previous object has been destroyed in the later time, and since consciousness has existed from beginningless time, there is no time when the object is not destroyed, and negations like the absence of flowers in winter exist at all times, so there are no flowers in summer either, and the cessations that are abandoned by seeing and abandoned by meditation, which are exhausted by cultivating the path, must also exist from beginningless samsara, so there will be many faults such as all sentient beings being liberated effortlessly. Therefore, when the object to be negated, like a pot, does not exist, it is assumed that the negation of that non-existence exists, and when a sprout is produced by a seed, it is like existence, and the way of existence is not the same, because the former assumes existence, not from its own essence, but because something like this pot does not exist, thus it is established from the perspective of negating the object to be negated, because it is not established from its own essence, and the latter does not need to be established from the perspective of negating others, and because it is established from its own essence. Furthermore, when the pot exists, assuming that the negation of that non-existence exists is not the destruction of its own essence, but from the perspective of the existence of the object of negation, although such times may occasionally occur, it is not the case that it arises when it exists on the ground and disappears when it is newly absent, so there is no fault of becoming impermanent. The third is, all this, etc. Here, the ability to perform a function with concepts is taken as the object of investigation, so the emptiness of the ability to perform a function is not investigated, regarding the meaning of what is said. The Khenpo of the Difficult Explanation says that in establishing that sound is impermanent, establishing the ability to perform a function as the reason is to refute other schools who say that permanent existence is uncertain, so he says. This shows another refutation than the previous one, which is contradictory, because if it is like before, the permanent performs a function, from the reasoning of previously extensively preventing it, other reasoning is not apparent, so it will not become another refutation. The text says that the reason why it should not be the basis for investigating the permanent
