Therefore, the order of entering should be understood as shown here. Having understood, one should regard the gathering of outer and inner favorable conditions such as spiritual mentors and leisure and endowments as extremely difficult to find. Based on completely pure ethics, the meaning of extensive learning is the practice of a Bodhisattva, in general, and especially for the profound meaning, one should familiarize oneself in a secluded place, and not pay special attention to mere verbal expressions, which is the essence of all scriptural teachings. As it is said in the Meeting of Father and Son Sutra: It is difficult for Buddhas to appear and remain for a long time, and likewise to gain initial faith in the teachings. Human existence is also difficult to obtain, therefore, strive well in the teachings of the Victorious Ones. Completely abandon all eight unfree states, and having obtained the difficult-to-find leisure and endowments, and having gained faith in the teachings of the Sugatas, wise people should practice the yoga of reason. Do not cling to sounds and remain stagnant, but having heard the Dharma, always be diligent. You should always rely on solitary places, therefore, strive to become excellent holy beings. Rely on whatever Dharma-speaking virtuous friend there is, and do not rely on sinful friends even once. Have equal mind towards all sentient beings, and never despise any sentient being. Possess ethics and listen extensively, always practice prostrations, circumambulation, and alms-gathering. Without distraction, rely on the foot of a tree, and do not slander the excellent ones who are honored and then abandoned. All these conditioned phenomena are not conditioned phenomena, their nature is one and like illusions. Know the one limit of the meaning of the holy ones, quickly measure and touch enlightenment. View the five aggregates as like illusions, the six inner sense sources and the six outer ones, because it is said in the sutras that they are like empty cities, therefore, never rely on them. The nature of desire and hatred is emptiness, ignorance and pride are produced by conceptual thoughts. Those conceptual thoughts are also unborn and without arising, if you understand in this way, you will become tamers. Thus it is said. Thirdly, the arrangement of summarizing the profound meaning established in the preceding and subsequent treatises into a sequence of practice is as shown by this treatise. Therefore, know that all that is established by view is gathered into showing the absence of self-nature in both self and phenomena.

Then, practice as previously stated. This concludes the explanation of the eighteenth chapter, which is the nature of twelve verses, called "Investigation of Self and Dharma." Fourth, showing the emptiness of time's own nature, divided into two: refuting that time is established by its own nature, and refuting the reasons for its establishment. The first is divided into three: explaining the text of the treatise, combining it with definitive scriptures, and summarizing the meaning and stating the name. The first: Here it is said that things have their own nature because things are the cause of being established as the three times. Here, the three times are what is taught in the Sutras, and they are also the basis of things, that is, the nature of things arising and ceasing is the past, arising but not ceasing is the present, and things that have not yet attained their own entity are called the future. This Refutation is divided into three: generally refuting that the three times exist by their own nature, separately refuting the views of one's own and other schools, and the way of establishing the three times in name. The first is divided into three: refuting that the two times of dependence and non-dependence are established by their own nature, applying the reasoning to the other two times, and applying the three categories of dharmas to other aspects. The first is divided into two: refuting that the "time" that depends on the past is established by its own nature, and refuting that the "time" that does not depend is established by its own nature. The first: If the present and future exist by their own entity, since they do not go beyond the two, if the present and future depend on the past time, then the present and future will exist in the past time. If these two times exist by their own entity, then these two times depending on the past will also become a nature established by their own characteristics. Because such a nature will not be confused in any place or time, because nature will never change. If it is thought that there is no darkness in the nature of a lamp, but they are not universally present as contradictory opposites, if it is thought that light and darkness exist by their own entity, then even if the two do not exist mutually, it is necessary to prove dependence in the same way as what is to be proven. Therefore, this does not cause harm. If these two times exist in the past time, then these two times will also become the past, and if so, then the past cannot be established, because from the present
