Therefore, it is absolutely wrong to always cling to existence or non-existence as the meaning of whether something is established or not. Some sophists who dwell in the snowy mountains say this, which is very different. The Yogācārins established the system of treatises that assert the true existence of things, which follows the approach of the fundamental master. Here, if we first accept the views of our own school, then we first establish the views of the two schools that assert reality, and when pointing out the scriptural faults of these views, we also cite the collections of the Lesser Vehicle. Even so, if these views are refuted, then the Yogācāra's assertion of the true existence of things will also be refuted, so the reasoning for refutation is common. The second part is divided into two points: refuting the proof of existence by other-nature; refuting the proof of existence by emptiness-nature. The first part is divided into two points: refuting because self-nature and other-nature are contradictory; refuting because it is impossible for other-nature to exist by self-nature. The first point is: any dharma that is not mistaken for anything is its self-nature, because it is not obstructed by anything else. That is, it needs to be like the heat of fire that is not mistaken for fire. If things are essentially self-existent, then how can it be possible to change from what it is considered to be the self-nature of? It is impossible. Also, because change can be seen, it is refuted that it is not self-existent. This is the other-nature change of conventional truth. The second point is: temporarily, when a thing remains in its previous state, it itself does not change. Why? Because if change is said to be another way of saying aging, then a young person who remains in a state of youth will not age, because there is no aging. Because in that state, it is unreasonable to change from youth to something else. If it is thought that it is not the young person who ages, but aging itself that ages? Then aging itself will not have aging, because aging does not need to age either. Here, the Clear Words says that the two states of old age and youth are contradictory. Buddhapālita argues that because the two states of aging and youth cannot exist simultaneously in the same person, the assertion that a young person will age is refuted. This is the young

The state of youth is ceasing, and the state of aging is arising, although both are simultaneous. However, the two states cannot exist at the same time, and this itself should be considered a nominal designation. Therefore, as previously stated in the context of preventing birth, if it exists by its very nature of changing into something else, there would be the fault of the two states existing simultaneously, so it should be prevented. Suppose that what has become old does not become old, but the youth itself has the very nature of changing into becoming old, if you think so, then milk itself will turn into yogurt without giving up its own state. If you say that milk does not turn into yogurt because it changes into the state of yogurt after giving up its own state, then if you do not think that milk itself will turn into yogurt because of mutual contradiction, then what other thing besides milk will turn into the substance of yogurt? It will not become, because nothing else like yogurt and water will turn into yogurt. The term "the former dharma changes into the latter" applies only to old and young and milk and yogurt, but for the causal relationship between fire and firewood, the world does not say that firewood becomes fire. Therefore, since it is impossible for the nature of change to exist, it is said that impermanence exists by its very nature, which is deceptive and false. This is not the meaning, but it means that all things are not born by their own nature, which is the meaning of the scriptures. As stated in the *Source of the Jewel*, "Whatever dharma has no birth and no arising," until liberation, many sentient beings are liberated. At the end, it says, "By showing all dharmas as selfless, the world is liberated from the attachment of sentient beings. Oneself is liberated from action, and the actor is also liberated, so there is no transcendence even in reaching the other shore. The great sage has reached the other shore of existence, and anyone who has reached the other shore cannot be found. There is no other shore, and there is no this shore, and it is also said that one has reached the other shore. Whoever speaks in words does not exist, and the words spoken do not exist, and the object spoken to cannot be found, and whoever knows does not exist. Due to attachment to wrong views, all beings in this world wander about. Whoever knows the peaceful dharma is self.
