I will explain how the eliminator and the object to be eliminated are reasonable by giving examples, and apply it to the meaning: Likewise, relying on the wisdom of the stainless noble ones, the accumulation of ignorance and afflictions will disappear. Wisdom and afflictions, even if examined, they have never had any association. Wisdom and ignorance, neither doing nor thinking, relying on wisdom, ignorance will disappear. Both are ungraspable, like flowers in the sky. Likewise, both wisdom and ignorance are empty. It is said. Here, using a lamp to dispel darkness, it is permissible to cite examples from the perspective of emptiness of inherent existence, but citing examples from the perspective of meaning is for the purpose of understanding how the antidote eliminates what is to be eliminated, just as a lamp dispels darkness. Third, if the antidote, wisdom, eliminates what is to be eliminated like a lamp dispelling darkness, then what is the nature of this situation? In the same place, the arising of appearance and the vanishing of darkness are simultaneous, so the arising of appearance and the vanishing of darkness are also simultaneous. Thus, in that place, when the lamp exists, although there is no darkness to be eliminated by the lamp, it is not contradictory for the lamp to be the eliminator of darkness. Just as the previous moment does not have the later moment, but it is not contradictory for the previous moment to be the producer of the later moment. Similarly, in one continuum, the antidote, stainless wisdom, and what is to be eliminated by it cannot exist simultaneously. As it is said in "They have never had any association." Even so, it is not contradictory for the antidote to eliminate what is to be eliminated, which is the meaning of "Relying on wisdom, ignorance will disappear." Therefore, the path of uninterruptedness of the path of seeing and what is to be eliminated by it, the objects to be abandoned by seeing, although they cannot exist simultaneously in one continuum, that path is eliminating what is to be eliminated. Similarly, the path of uninterruptedness of the path of meditation is also eliminating the objects to be abandoned by meditation. If, when the antidote, the stainless path of uninterruptedness, arises, there is no object to be eliminated corresponding to it, then the statement "Relying on wisdom, ignorance will disappear" would be unreasonable, because when wisdom exists, the object to be eliminated has already disappeared. If this is said, then here the antidote and what is to be eliminated are said to be like light and darkness, the directly corresponding antidote manifests arising, and the corresponding object to be eliminated manifests vanishing.

Since the two exist simultaneously, the arising of the antidote and the cessation of what is to be abandoned also occur simultaneously. However, during the path of immediate consequence, what is to be abandoned is not yet abandoned; it is abandoned at the time of the path of liberation. Therefore, it is reasonable to say that what is to be abandoned ceases to exist by relying on the antidote, because by relying on the antidote path of immediate consequence, the path of liberation that abandons what is to be abandoned arises. If it were not so, and merely the absence of what is to be abandoned at that time of the path were considered abandonment, then when the path of application manifests, the abandonment of what is to be seen and when the path of seeing manifests, the abandonment of what is to be cultivated would contradict their existence, and therefore all of those would become abandoned. If this were the case, then at the time of the final path of cultivation in the Great Vehicle, even though there is no trace of the slightest habit of what is to be cultivated, the abandonment is relative to the path of liberation from what is to be abandoned, which is the first moment of the omniscient wisdom. The statement that the subtle habit of bad rebirths only reverses at the level of Buddhahood and does not reverse before that also refers to abandonment. In any stream of consciousness where the subsequent similar types of what is to be seen and what is to be cultivated can never arise again, that is the meaning of abandonment. For this, the antidote to the seed of what is to be abandoned must precede, because as mentioned before, the path of liberation of abandonment must be accomplished by that antidote. What is to be abandoned and the antidote are also contradictory in that they cannot coexist. The way they cannot coexist is not like heat and cold, which cannot coexist for a long time, but like light and darkness, they cannot coexist in terms of time. Therefore, the undefiled path of immediate consequence and what is to be abandoned by it do not exist simultaneously in the same stream of consciousness. Then, at the time of the path of seeing of immediate consequence, although there is no abandonment of what is to be seen, which is what is to be abandoned by it, there must be a latent tendency of what is to be cultivated. At that time, the mental consciousness is undefiled, not tainted by the habit of dualistic delusion, so it is not reasonable for that latent tendency to exist in its essence. Moreover, sense consciousness is not its basis, and form is not its basis, and the alaya consciousness is not accepted, so it would become without a basis. Thinking this way is not a fault, for example, in the system that accepts the alaya consciousness, the object of focus of the afflicted mind with the appearance of self-grasping is the place of the habit of affliction.
