The later moment, different in nature from the previous one, is aging, refuting the view of the Sautrāntikas and other schools that things are established simultaneously with their respective characteristics. If one acknowledges an agent and claims that actions occur simultaneously, it is easy to understand the contradiction in such an occurrence. This also has other explanations in the teachings of Buddhapālita. The third part has two sections: presenting the consequences and refuting the answers that refute the faults. The first is: If arising and so on have other characteristics or do not have other characteristics, what fault is there if one thinks that they have other characteristics as previously stated? And what fault is there if they do not have other characteristics? If arising, abiding, and ceasing have a characteristic other than themselves that exemplifies conditioned phenomena, then those characteristics must also be examined for other characteristics, which would lead to infinite regress, and if that is accepted, the root characteristic will not be established. If the three do not have a characteristic other than themselves, then the three would not be conditioned phenomena, because to exemplify form and so on as conditioned phenomena, it must be exemplified through a characteristic other than themselves. If one thinks that since faults have already been stated for both having and not having other characteristics for arising and so on, what is the point of stating repetitions? The fault of becoming unconditioned if there is no other characteristic was stated earlier by the commentator, not by the teacher. The teacher did not explicitly say that if there is no other characteristic, it will become the characteristic of unconditioned phenomena. Although the root meaning is stated in that way, it is not a repetition because it shows a different way of stating the fault than before. Furthermore, before, the fault was mainly stated for arising alone because it was the main thing, but here the fault is stated for all three, so there is a difference. If they do not exist, then they are not conditioned. What is said is that if there is no other characteristic, it is not conditioned, but before it was shown that if arising is not conditioned, it is not the characteristic of conditioned phenomena, so it is not a repetition. The commentator's statement of "or" making three different explanations is to show that it is not a repetition from this point of view, and it is to show many points of non-repetition, not the "or" that is said because the meaning of the text is uncertain, so it should be determined in this way in other situations as well. The second part has two sections: refuting the refutation of the fault of the first consequence, and refuting the refutation of the second consequence.

Refutation. The first part is divided into two points: stating the absence of faults, and refuting that view. The first point is: those who are respected by many, etc., with respect to birth, etc., have the birth of the born, etc., so there is no fault of falling into the unconditioned. It will not become endless either, because the fundamental characteristics and the conforming characteristics accomplish each other. Thus, when a conditioned dharma, virtuous or afflicted, arises, it arises together with itself and fifteen others, namely that dharma and its birth, abiding, aging, and impermanence. If that dharma is afflicted, then it has the reversed liberation of that dharma; if it is virtuous, then it has the true liberation of that dharma; if it is renunciation, then it has the nature of renunciation of that dharma; if it is non-renunciation, then it has the nature of non-renunciation of that dharma. Among them, the virtuous or afflicted dharma is the main one, and the five from the birth of that dharma to impermanence, and the first and last of the two, such as reversed liberation, are the retinue. The seven from the birth of birth to the non-renunciation of non-renunciation are the retinue of the retinue. Renunciation or non-renunciation is renunciation or non-renunciation from samsara. Among them, the birth of birth only produces the root birth, and the root birth produces the birth of birth. The word "འང་" (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal meaning) includes the production of thirteen other dharmas besides itself, producing fourteen in total. Similarly, the six from the root possession to non-renunciation produce fourteen each, excluding themselves, from possession to non-renunciation. The six from conforming possession to conforming non-renunciation cause the root possession itself to possess, until the root non-renunciation itself does not become renunciation. Not becoming renunciation means not attaining nirvana. This principle of the fifteen dharmas appears in all three great commentaries, and the Sthavira school is said in the Lamp of Wisdom to hold this view. The Abhidharmakosha says that the four of birth, abiding, aging, and decay, and the four conforming characteristics, and the dharma, a total of nine, the four of the root birth, etc., the eight dharmas other than themselves, and the four of the birth of birth, etc., act on each root dharma.
