If it must be established through reasoning, then when establishing that a sprout is unborn in the ultimate sense, it will become the establishment of the existence of ultimate unbirth, thus giving rise to the doubt that it is established through inference. Regarding this, the fact that the non-existence of inherent existence cannot be established by reasoning will be explained in the commentary on the Root Wisdom. If it is realized that what is to be established is a non-affirming negation, then only the severance of birth in the ultimate sense is established, and it is understood that the existence of ultimate unbirth other than that is not established. Therefore, even in the Clear Words, it is said, "The existence conceived by others is refuted, but the non-existence is not established." Like refuting the conception of non-existence, it is a refutation without grasping the ultimate unbirth as true. Not establishing existence is not establishing the existence of ultimate birth. Therefore, although it is possible to negate both the true establishment of a sprout and the true establishment of a non-true establishment, severing one does not completely sever the other. However, if a sprout is truly existent and truly non-existent, severing one must completely sever the other, so it is impossible to negate both. As it says in the Refutation of Disputes: "If by the very nature of non-existence, how can the nature of non-existence be refuted? If the very nature of non-existence is refuted, then the very nature of existence will be well established." This means that if the non-existence of phenomena is refuted by the words of non-existence, then the phenomena will become inherently existent. This has been clearly explained. The two of existence and non-existence in the ultimate sense are also the same as this, so it is impossible to negate both. It is possible to negate both existence in the ultimate sense and non-existence in the ultimate sense, and existence in the ultimate sense. Regarding this, the proponents of entities believe that if what is to be negated is not true, then negating it is true; and if the negation is not true, then what is to be negated is true, so it is impossible to negate both as true. The Madhyamikas, etc., have well established the profound Middle Way, free from these two extremes, without an object of focus, through definitive meaning scriptures and reasoning, thus spreading the essence of the Buddha's teachings in all directions. Now, this question is to be asked: How do the two great chariot traditions distinguish between the provisional and definitive meanings of the scriptures? And since the intentions of those are explained separately by great scholars, appearing as many paths, which of those two intention interpreters do you follow?

, if someone asks: Regarding what is established as definitive meaning and considered the ultimate meaning, please speak. Although I sincerely respect all the well-spoken words of these who are the adornments of the world's scholars, with the reasoning of the infallible interdependence of samsara and nirvana, destroying all conceptual fixations and objectifications. When the white light of well-spoken words arising from the moon fully opens the garden of the eye of wisdom, having seen the path taught by Buddhapālita, who would not mainly uphold the good tradition of Nāgārjuna? We say it like that. Thus, in the manner previously explained, distinguishing the definitive and provisional meanings of the scriptures, thereby establishing the suchness, these two great chariot ways, although extensively taught in the context of the Perfection Vehicle, the paṇḍitas and siddhas who comment on the tantric texts also accord with one of the two, thereby establishing the meaning of suchness, and there is no other system besides that. Therefore, it should be known that this way is the path for all the sutras and tantras to establish suchness. Therefore, seeking suchness without relying on the great chariot ways of the two systems is like a blind person without a guide running towards a dangerous direction. Even if one wants to rely on them, but if one is not familiar with these texts, and especially if one does not understand the subtle points of reasoning in these texts, and only relies on some words that distinguish the definitive and provisional meanings of the scriptures, taking the scriptures as the only refuge, even if one ends up talking about suchness, one sees that it is only words, exhausting the essence. Even if one roughly sees the great significance of the meaning, one is still not satisfied. Therefore, one should become well-acquainted with the subtle and coarse points of reasoning that the great chariots have made into the eyes for viewing the scriptures. Like a river, one should continuously strive to establish the vast, profound, and even more profound places of the scriptures, and practice as much as one knows, taking practice as the core. For those intelligent ones who wish the Buddha's teachings to remain for a long time, I have spoken this essence of well-spoken words as a topic of conversation. May the essence of the teachings be well shown by the sutras of the profound intention of the Victorious Ones, and may it be upheld. Having attained the many texts of the two supreme systems of the Able One's tradition.
